Agreed, even more so than earlier in the window, they were very vague statements, whereas with Morgan they have been definitive on more than one occasion. Still think he may go in Jan or next Summer, but if he's knuckling down until then, then I can't begrudge him that <ok>

No exactly but with luck Ron will have shown him that the future is bright in red and white and he will stay put.

Not January...that is too soon for credibility and would upset the team when we have hopefully bedded in. The summer is possible as it would have got Koeman through an initial difficult season, but I hope not.

The Echo, who seem to have a better relationship with the club these days and are fed a few lines, are adamant that the club are pursuing Townsend, but Morgan will not be involved in any sort of deal.

Also, they claim that Gonzalez is not a target.

EDIT: Lammy has it covered on previous page. Apologies.

I think it depends on how well Taider settles in, if he turns out to be comfortable in the PL then selling Morgan next year for 20+ and signing him for 7 could be great business. I know it was only a friendly but I was impressed by his cameo in the Bayer friendly.

Me too, not to mention Dier - but I point to my 'whom we could realistically get' qualifier!

I would love it if the Townsend insterest was purely to string spurs along into thinking they can get circa 15m to add to their Schneiderlin bid (as it seem obvious they don't have all the cash) only for us to withdraw at the last minute.

I would even take having to wait to deadline day to bring another winger in just to mess with them.

I am interested to see how many of their cast offs they manage to sell considering how much levy overprices his players. They are reliant on certain clubs being desperate it would seem (whilst potentially ending up desperate themselves)

Stringing spurs along is a good transfer ploy

Normally I wouldn't approve of such tactics and I suspect that doesn't feature in KL's way of doing business.

On the other hand, I assume that was what Spurs were doing to Pochettino, and what he was therefore doing to us.

I know that judging your success by the failures of others is unhealthy, but finishing above spurs (no matter where they end up) would absolutely fill me with joy.

Yes, it would be nice to finish above Poch's bigger club! Imagine if Liverpool finish 5th and don't progress far in the CL? There would be so much joy I'd have to wear a poncho (stolen gag alert)

Did Poch leave for nothing as his contract was/wasn't up or did we get compensation from Spurs?

Technically i think Pochettino himself had to pay and was trying to negotiate it out of levy.

Di Maria has turned down a contract at Real Madrid. Come on KL you know we need a winger!
