We have the best attacking midfielders and the best WF options.

Could do with a TOP class defensive midfielder mind you.

We are up there but having Arteta is weakening out midfield. If we get a DM then we'll be up there. On paper Chelsea have the best but we will see how they perform all season.

I would argue Chelsea's and Man City's midfields are very close in quality to ours. But we three are far ahead of the rest of the league midfield wise.

No, City and Chelsea both have more balanced midfields than us. I'm still worried about our squadron of dwarves in some games

It's our balance which concerns me too. Attacking-wise we're certainly up there but I don't think we've got it just right yet. Hopefully things will change when Özil is back but we still seemed awfully slow in midfield despite Sanchez. Probably just early season syndrone and lack of fitness and match sharpness.

I agree, our build up play has been far too slow, but that could be down to having off-form Cazorla and Wilshere slowing things up. Having Ozil and Walcott/OXO will speed things up a lot more. Add Campbell to the mix then we have the players to speed things up considerably.

I don't know why Wenger is persisting with Cazorla atm. He offers absolutely nothing defensively, and nothing offensively either so far. Sure he pops up with the occasional goal or assist during the season, but playing on the left he is largely anonymous during games. I say play two quick wingers with a proper AM between them. No more of this unbalanced left hand side of our midfield.

We definitely need a CDM this transfer window. I'm sure Wenger will resolve that before the window closes :emoticon-0158-time:

I think that chelsea and city have the best midfield...I think arsenals is good but imho whilshere is your weak link. On his day he is excellent but his days are becoming few and far between

To be fair if wilshere is our weak link that's not bad, considering he isn't a first choice for us.

Our midfield options in the middle are: Ramsey, wilshere, Arteta, flamini, ozil, rosicky, Cazorla, diaby
And if you count wide men as part of the midfield then oxocube, podolski, Sanchez, Walcott, Campbell all count towards it as well.

Offensively we have as good if not better than any other team in the league. But to comfortably claim to have the best midfield I think we would need a top quality defensive midfielder added to the equation.

Whilshere should be a first choice though...he used to be fantastic...maybe he'll become that good again but something has gone wrong tbh.
As for you being the best...I think city and chelsea are way ahead of everyone else...that's why they both battered you last season.
Maybe it'll be different if you got a DM
But like I said, your midfield is good and I'd definately be happy for that to be the spurs midfield

It was mainly a string of injuries keeping him out of the team that saw his form drop. Hoping to see more from him this season given he has had his first proper preseason for a long time.

Given just how good ozil and Ramsey are though it will always be difficult for wilshere to get himself a starting spot in our team when everyone is fit.

Not that I'm aware of. He did an interview which was published on arsenal.com only a couple of days ago.

Think they are just being very careful about how they plan to use him and bring him back to first team football.

He could be a great asset for us this season if he is fit for even half of the games.

We need to sell Jack, Santi & Pod while they still hold some value.
