please log in to view this image Saints v West Brom please log in to view this image Saturday 23rd August 3pm Officials - not yet known OK so after last night lets get back to the football and the impending visit of West Brom on Saturday. On paper we should be too strong but they have dangerous players like Berahino so it won't be easy. Saints are looking to build on the impressive (particularly in the 2nd half) performance at Anfield and will probably hand home league debuts to Bertrand Tadic Pelle and Long. Long especially will be keen to score against his former club and may be worth a flutter in the first scorer marker if he starts. Injury wise it looks as if we will still be without Gaston and Gallagher. Still no news on Boruc so my starting 11 would be Forster Clyne Fonte Maya Bertrand Vic Morgan Tadic JWP Long Pelle Subs KD or Boruc, Jos, Stephens, Davis, Cork,Taider, Isgrove We have a wealth of options in midfield but are still a bit light in front of goal so hopefully Long or Pelle can open their accounts on Saturday. COYR!
Gardos is training with the squad, I know that much. Couple of weeks, I think I read somewhere [not your post above]. BTW, Lamb. Nice to see badges, info and stuff. Reckon you can keep the standard up for the whole season..?
As I posted on another thread I think the fact that Hampshire are in the 20/20 final will have an impact. Hants will have around 5k supporters in Birmingham and its live on Sky. Hants semi final clash against Lancs starts at 2.
I have no facts to back this up, but I am pretty sure our home games in August are always well below attendance capacity.
We always have this discussion at this time...people are on holiday or are recovering from the cost of a holiday at the beginning of the season.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a complete afternoon and evening wash-out. Postpone our SF and the F until Sunday. As for the WBA game, I'm thinking Long for Davis. Assuming Gardos is still not yet available.
I think Gardos trained with the squad for the few days he was here, so hopefully with another full weeks training under his belt he is fit enough to start the game on Saturday. I think I read somewhere that he has been back training since the 3rd August, so 3 weeks or so of it and I would hope he would be fit enough. Not too much problem if he isn't though.
Still like 3-1 scores because it's a good, realistic win and it's more interesting than 2-0. Not sure that Forster/Boruc would agree though.
