The Charlton/Milburn family come from north Newcastle, so that's why United are OK. Sunderland are definitely dodgy though.
Odd little pub quiz fact from years ago just jumped into my head looking at the map, which is that Norwich is further north than Birmingham. Vin
OK, I'll bite: Put these in order of furthest west..? 1. Plymouth Argyle 4.1422° W 2. Celtic FC 4.2590° W 3. Swansea City 3.9500° W
1] And you'd be wrong. 2] Noted on the cities, not clubs front. It isn't close, so cities and clubs are the same.
If you go to the post where I asked the question and highlight the spaces after the clubs you'll see how far west they actually are. It's actually Glasgow, Plymouth then Swansea.
And one I'll be using. On subject, I'm a little dismayed that FB has only raised £30K (at least on justgiving) so far. That's only a quid per Saints supporter at a big game. Might be worth social mediaing this one up. Whatever the hell that means. I'll get my twittermaster and facebookperson to do it for me. Vin
Yeah, I'm a little concerned about it myself. I wouldn't want Franny to be knocking himself out for a pittance. I'm sure he'll get the total going at some point, but I'm going to do text £3 thingy within the next day or two. I mean, if I can't afford £3, then I'm really on my uppers. Anyone who looks at that and thinks twice because they don't think they can afford £3 must be really desperate for dosh. You can throw away £3 and not notice.
Just made donation...hope he gets a lot more before the run and, hopefully, that he has bigger sponsors we know nothing about yet. Best of luck, Franny.
I think that could be quite disrespectful to some people, I mean you can speak for yourself but you don't know everyone's financial situation on this forum. I'm not necessarily talking about myself here, but I'd hazard a confident guess that there is plenty of people out there who would notice if they were to "throw £3 away".
Well I've donated. I would imagine that once he gets going and the media latch on the donations will start snowballing. I suppose we should all spread the word and use twitter and Facebook and stuff.
Yes, and there are millions upon millions to whom £3 is nothing. Anyone who can afford the internet connection cost and the time to get onto this forum is not on their uppers for the sake of £3. Anyone who can afford a packet of ***s can afford £6. Anyone who can afford a pint of beer can afford £3. Anyone who can afford a coffee out of their house can afford £3. Anyone who has a mobile phone on a monthly contract can afford £3. The list goes on. The vast majority of the UK population can afford £3. Sorry if that offends you for being disrespectful. Vin
I said it doesn't nessercarily offend me but I think it's rather arrogant to start assuming everyones financial position, plus you say about an internet connection, alot of people use this at work no? So they may not have an internet connection, just my take anyway.
And I wasn't disputing to say to people couldn't afford £3, the quote was "you can throw away £3 and not notice" and I disagree with that, If everyone else agrees with that then maybe you can all chuck £3 my direction
According to Justgiving, Aberdeen is the 6th most generous place in the UK. No sign of Southampton in the top 10. You shower of skinflints.
