See how well the team is doing at home now?

The new atmosphere in that once dark and empty corner is the reason!!

Ringing the ticket office this morning to get my seat in B block.

Atmosphere wise, if the East Stand had carried on this season as it has for the last ten, then honestly you might as well have closed it. I have seen more noise generated by a popped bag of Walkers crisps. The only noise to emanate from the regulars there is from the unscrewing of flask caps. It was long overdue to see a transfusion to that mausoleum of *passionate* Charlton fans who generate some atmosphere, as opposed to spending the 90 mins doing a Sudoku puzzle. (yes, I have seen it ..)

If I ever get hold of anybody with a drum or a trumpet in a sports stadium anywhere, let alone my beloved Valley, that individual will be going home with said instrument inserted deeply into the lowermost orifice of their body. Oh, and by the way, once the trumpet is inserted, don't even THINK of farting.

A trumpet is fine at somewhere like Sabina Park, when the West Indies are playing against England at cricket. I'll even tolerate it at The Oval (which is usually more like Sabina Park when West Indies play there) as long as it is played tunefully. But such things (in my humble opinion) don't belong in football grounds and I despise them there with a passion.

Beware, those of you tempted to bring musical instruments to The Valley....... it would be a bloody painful, long walk home up Charlton Church Lane with a deeply wedged rectal trumpet in situ.

When we was in L1 we used to have a trumpeter alongside the drummer in North Upper.... he could hold a tune and I quite like it :)....... also whatever happened to football rattles.... when I was a kid (many moons ago) I used to have a bloody big one pained red and white, made a hell of a din it did!

Anyone who brings a drum or trumpet or any other form of marching band instrument into the A, B block or maybe even the C block lol. for the next home game (and makes good noise with it) Will receive a voucher for the club shop to purchase the new home shirt.

I ain't moved over there to be quite... I am a man of my word people.

Just saw on BBC breakfast that our £150 season tickets are the cheapest in the country.

its for one block in the entire ground though - bit of a false economy there.

The report shows how football prices are rising by double the cost of living. A fairer comparison would be with wages, which would make even worse reading. It's the norm for clubs to rip off their own fans as much as they can get away with, but since we live in rip-off Britain this is not surprising. For instance, you have to pay £1:80 for a bottle of water at Stansted. In an Italian airport you get a bottle for 1 euro, and this applies in all sorts of small ways, something I only really notice when I go abroad.

No, although that would be interesting. I meant instead of the cost of living, the wages of us poor mugs, which are lagging behind the rate of inflation.
