Heard some songs coming out the East Stand this evening? Keep it up boys was good to hear that was...When the second goal went in I heard Valley Floyd Road song. Was in the West Stand....Quality stuff
Didn't go tonite. But I did speak to a guy at London Bridge who says there was a 'buzz' around the ground. Now sometimes that buzz can't be translated into words but when we had mendonca and Hunt, Flanagan and Hales playing together I felt that buzz, maybe just maybe , igor and George?
There was a group of lads singing at the top of the East Stand A Block. It was good to see that end of the stand well populated.
Where were you sitting captain? My mate had a season ticket in lower north but he is waiting for swap week to move it over to east stand B block. Good to hear some noise down that end I must say
The East Stand did us proud this evening, and the two-part harmonising with the North Upper for Valley Floyd Road was a real joy. Good form on and off the pitch. Shame I turned up to find a Romanian in my seat. I told him to sod off, yet after ninety minutes we were like old pals. Welcome to the fold, DJ.
Thanks ponders, are you an east stand bod? It will get better down that end Any singers get yerselfs swapped to B block as A is now sold out I believe.. Make a real good atmosphere having noise down that end
I heard them once as a separate sound, although I could see them singing along with the North Upper a few times.
I was down in the lower west near the south. I heard the valley Floyd road after the second goal. I am going to get my season ticket over there I think. I havnt bought one yet but I am going to. Will be a laugh
I'm in the West Upper, Block Q. There looks to be a few spaces in A-block, but perhaps people are seat hopping, or maybe folk are still on their summer holidays. I haven't watched a game from the East for about 100 years; we lost to Stoke, with Mike Sheron scoring twice.
It doesn't help that the JS Stand is designed in the exact shape of a Bose speaker so any singing from the away fans is amplified considerably.... it would help if they removed the side walls from the JS and had it open on the sides.... during the winter this would also have the advantage of making that stand a rather cold place to sit What A Block needs is a drummer of their own...... and I always like a trumpet being played with the drum as well Welcome DJ...
Welcome DJ! Definitely chomping at the bit to return, though like ponders, I'm in the west upper. And ponders, you could have let tucudean have your seat after that first half performance!!
It will be interesting what they do with A block next season in terms of prices, but the experiment seems to be working this far. Maybe they should do the same with the facing section of the west stand in a bid to help drown out the noise from the JS stand, though as AH points out, it is perfect for 1000 drunk blokes to attempt some harmonising.
