It's easily the best tactical football show on TV. It's a shame Sky have lost the Champions League rights and can't really broadcast the World Cup because a show like this for those two programmes would be good.

It's good that they don't broadcast the World Cup.

If it was in addition to it being on terrestrial TV it would be good to have it though.

Obviously not having a licence I can only go by what I see of coverage of games when I'm down the pub or visiting friends/family (and youtube clips later on) but it'd be impossible to be worse than that twat Townsend who knowing a player had suffered a career threatening injury still sat there on the highlights programme laughing about a player standing over him taunting him about it as him just being a master wind up merchant, or Lawrensen who's spent the last 10 years sounding like he wishes he could be anywhere but in a TV studio talking about football.

I wouldn't have said they argued, it's more of a well informed discussion.

    Good viewing though.

Would never happen, unless Sky made all of their Sport service free-to-air for a month, which there is no chance of.

Neville and Carragher are by far the best pundits in football.

Townsend needs to be thrown in a cage with hungry lions. The ****.

Neville is definitely right on this one for me. If I was picking a 3-5-2 team I would always want players perfectly suited to the roles. At the wing-backs you want players like Elmo, Valencia, Maggio who have the energy to get up and down every attack/defence, have the attacking skills but also the defensive ability and desire. The wide CBs also need a lot more ability on the ball and pace, players like Vertonghen, Vermaelen, Ramos. If you stuck someone like Bruce in as a wide WB he would get torn apart but in the middle he is less exposed.

Aye, QPR vs Blackburn when Diouf was in the **** for all this:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/9351190.stm

The highlights programme that night cut from Warnock having a go at Diouf for being a sewer rat for what he was saying to Townsend laughing about it and saying how funny it was that Warnock let himself get wound up by Diouf because he's just a classic wind up merchant.

Why? The rules say it has to be available on free to air, not only available on free to air. Champions League Final, FA Cup Final etc work perfectly well being shown on free to air and subscription at the same time so it could work for the World Cup.

You seem to forget who is in charge of FIFA.

Yeah, it isn't like they'll still have the Prem, Football League and La Liga among others..

    Give your head a shake.

Are you suggesting that FIFA have the ability to change UK law and get it off free to air, or that they wouldn't accept truck loads of cash to allow Sky to have the rights as well as BBC/ITV showing it?

I think Sepp would like the former to be true.

Come to think of it, he'd ****ing adore the latter too.

Why so? Sky haven't lost the lion's share of the PL football and will do anything to keep it that way knowing that if they ever lost the PL football the company would quite possibly go out of business. Having the films isn't enough. Football saved Sky in the early nineties.
