Nee chance he joined us for the money! Maybe if you were offering a really low amount, but we have a wage cap of £35-40k a week, which doesn't get broken by that much.

We are a bigger club than Liverpool, and better. That's why he didn't go there.

Pretty dumb comment. You still have the spine of last seaon's team and still none ours are good enough. They weren't good enough when they finished higher than you and they're not good enough now. If you can't detect a smidge of irony there, well...

hmm why, we are 25 million in credit on transfers since Bruce came, if Short puts in another 30 million for players, why on earth should i care? like i said its not my money and if he is a flop i am pretty sure Bruce will pay with his job, sunderland will still be here after Bruce and Whickam are gone, so doesnt bother me at all how much we pay for players, and its the goin rate these days for a promising English striker, i would rather we bid what he is worth than a silly amount and get knocked back and another team comes in with a proper amount.

They're decent players but they'll probably be in the first XI for you? Whereas they would probably be on our bench IMO.

But you have to remember Liverpool were offering him a contract that would see him as a backup, we probably offered him less cash than you guys. Either way, like I said, I wish him the best of luck.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and that is yours, fair play.

There are definatly some Sunderland players that would still get into our first team. However if we're talking about just those 3 signings then
Larssen I'd take as a squad player but iwouldn't be good enough for a first team spot
Gardener I'd happily take and depending on formations I'd play him quite regulaly
Whickam as others have said no one can be sure about

Read the thread and my comments. And how come you keep saying they wouldn't get into a midfield with Barton and Tiote. They were there last season, along with Simpson, Krul, etc. and you finished lower than our bunch of inadequates. Cabaye may turn out to be a good buy, may turn out crap. But you have a funny habit of rating your players incredibly highly while dismissing everyone else's.
