I know a fair few, like myself, are staying in Ghent

How are you getting to and from the match? Looking at GoEuro there's no trains back to Ghent after like 4pm or so.

Actually looking on a Belgian train site, there are departures back to Ghent quite often after the final whistle. Odd how GoEuro won't let me see them or book them.

I haven't got tickets for any of my trains in Belgium (getting Eurostar to Brussels), since they're so regular and a flat fare. We could really learn from these continental types...

We've looked into this as well and there are plenty. Might see you in Ghent? I ended up in a great nightclub there last year when on a stag-do, had a bonzer time.

The local ladies are very friendly....

We're planning the same thing. I thought GoEuro was a bit odd. We're going to head straight for a train after the final whistle and then get on it in Ghent!

For those struggling with travel with Go Euro above try the SNCB site (which is the National Rail for Belgium) they do run train's from Lokeren to Ghent at around 22:30 and again at 23:18.

How long do the trains take and how much are they? We were planning on driving but might just get a train instead.

Lets hope they dont go off the rails!!

I will be going by car to the match, but whenever I have used the trains they do have a very reliable and generally good service.

We're driving early Thursday morning via Dover to Dunkirk and then on to the hotel in Ghent before train to Lokeren. Drive back Friday morning.

    Done.

One thing I didn't even consider is there's two train stations in Ghent, Sint Peeter the busier, and Daamport. Anyone know which one serves Lokeren?

We're right next to Sint Peeter, might have cocked that up with a 4km walk, though Ghent seems lovely so it's not so bad.

Think the train runs through both stations, though you should check I'm right!
