You dont get many youngters like owen/messi with a great scoring record from the outset even Wayne Rooney only had 17 goals from 77 games for Everton, I am in no way implying that he will be a great success and improve beyond our wildest expectations, but i dont think you can write him off before he has kicked a ball as well.

I am just pleased we are getting bodies in atm, September the 1st is when i will be either overjoyed or crapping myself lol

Larsson is not as good as Barton, Jonas, Ben Arfa, Marveaux.
Gardner is not as good as Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa(can play there also)
Whickam is unproven, would probably get in our team as we have no strikers at the moment, but Ba and possibly Erding have played on the top level.

  4. He's a good prospect but paying 8+ million for his is ridiculous mate. Still you have some cash to burn after you robbed Liverpool

Yeah, had edited my post including Ben Arfa.

Sylvain Marveaux seems a good player but I don't approve of him joining NUFC for the money, reportedly he asked for £60,000 a week which Liverpool weren't prepared to pay. Attitudes like that tend to cause problems in the dressing room when players think they are too good for the team they are at, however if Pardew keeps him well under control I can see him being an important part of the coming season for you guys.

Oh I think he'll do well for you , was just saying I dont think he'd play much here ahead of Ba, given we'll probably be playing one up top next season.

Larsson is slow and as has been said before, a slightly better Ryan Taylor

Gardner would be decent back up, i would put him ahead of Guthrie and possibly Gosling

Wickham is possibly the most overrated player at the moment...everyone raves about his solo goal, but the majority of running was into open space...for 13m you could get two or three back up players (which lets be honest is all he'd be at the moment) and it's not worth it if he flops!

  10. Liverpool didn't want to pay the original wage agreement because he had a groin injury the season before, we don't know the actual amount, but for free, i don't care if he is getting a bit more than our wage cap.

Yeah, if he plays well fair play to the lad.
Probably saw Liverpool flaunting the bucks and thought he'd give it a go.

Overall no hard feelings, Liverpool offered and so did Newcastle, he chose you guys and I wish him the best of luck in the future.:emoticon-0150-hands

Put it this way: everybody is going to have an over inflated sense of their own players. Being completely unbiased I'd have to say I couldn't compare unless I'd seen Sunderland play at least 10-15 times this season, which I haven't.

Larssen and Gardner are better than you're giving them credit for. They did, after all, win something last season and they would be in line for a place if they were in your squad, although form would obviously dictate matters. Yes, Brum got relegated, but we looked like it was a possibility for a while, so there but for the grace of God...

Wickham, who knows? We've had a mag on our board saying he's the closest thing to Shearer he's seen. Not my words, but one of your own.

As for our bad run, our players still finished higher than your lot, Tiote, Barton, Nolan and all.
