I agree, it is probably what delayed matters, although paying players when they are not playing in the Summer may also have something to do with it! I can not imagine that as fellow Russians and with similar business ethics, they did not come to an agreement with SG prior to the club's purchase.
AGAIN - anyone got a link to the pic of the proposed 90degree turned stadium - it looked Aok to me....
The 90 degrees option has to be the way to go eventually. It fulfills most peoples expectations whether that be a greater capacity or keeping the grounds-and surrounding areas (ie PUBS) 'special ' feel. When that day comes is anybodys guess, but come it surely must. Hey Channon, if historical facts are not of interest to you lot, why mention it in the first place? (Cos you know they are. )
Cheers Beddytare, and yes, my comment(s) were aimed at Tourette - my comment above should have had a comma in it, thus:- "Learn how to spell, thicko". Agree, would have made more sense - thanks for pulling me up on it Channon. Still, onwards and upwards.....
Note to self; stop being such a pedant and allow Woopert to make the odd typo, or confuse alkaline and zinc-air battery chemistry without going on and on about it. Sorry mate.
I saw that ! Mind you, "don't mention the war - I did, but I think I got away with it" as Basil Fawlty once said.
Or my favourite; Fun. Fun...do you remember we used to have fun, dear? Yes, but not at the same time, Basil...
That was a brilliant series, containing excellent one liners from Basil, interpersed with some vicious "below the belt" retorts from Sybil !!
I pay good money to travel from Malta at least 3 times a year to watch Pompey . I come first and foremost for the atmosphere that the Pompey fans generate and then of course to watch the greatest team in the south . I like Fratton Park as it is , if it is affordable , then yes , why not modernise . In the meantime I do not give two hoots how our stadium looks . I went up Man City the season we went down and I really felt I was in a fish bowl . Something like 50,000 spectators and if the Pompey fans were not there you wouldnt know that a football match was taking place .
You are absolutely correct - it hasn,t taken long for certain people to forget the very sensible entry from the moderators of both clubs. Strongly suggest StGodders & the duck go back to their respective kindergardens & leave others to sensible debate & a bit of friendly banter
Do we need a new stadium? .......NO!!! This year will be 63rd year of going to F.P. and dont want to change You can have a new ground when I'm gone!!!!
