As my friend just said ... it's hard to see the weak links in the Chelsea team, while we all know that Giroud and Arteta just aren't top level players. If we sign a DM like Khedira or Carvalho, we'll be much closer.

I think it's just a wake-up call tbh. We've improved massively with our summer signings, but there's work to be done ... we're not quite there yet. But we'll get there. We have the spending power again now, it's only a matter of time.

    Fabregas was excellent though.

Seems he's better suited to the EPL.

I still say it was a ******ed mistake to let him sign for Chelsea.

Spot on, only a fool would think that Cesc going to Chelsea or any other top Prem club wouldn't significantly improve them. But the decision was made and we improved ourselves with Sanchez, so out of buying Cesc or Sanchez, we got the better all-round player. I think had Ramsey not improved to the level that he did, we may have got Cesc in, but so far Rambo has proven that we could do without Cesc. It's just a shame he went to our direct rivals and strengthened an already very good squad significantly.

But as they say, let the best team win!.....(Arsenal <ok>)

Why are people still ****ing over fabregas, the **** wanted to leave just the same as nasri, in fact nasri even gave more in my opinion, as he played against liverpool when we were stuck and gave his all, even tho he had a foot out the door. Yet people still seem to hate nasri 10x more than fabregas, cesc is not at the club because he wanted to leave, so stop blaming wenger, its cescs fault he is not at the club, no one else.

The guy left to play for his childhood dream club. Nasri left to go to the league mercenaries. World of difference.

Besides, all I see here is people saying that he's a good footballer. Which is true.

He left to play for his childhood dream club. You can't really do that when you're on the bench.

He did have the misfortune of joining them when they had what could possibly be arguably the greatest midfield in club football history.

He laid his bed let him rot in it. I have far more respect for Nasri than I do for Cesc. One left for money but at least he was honest and gave it his all before he left. One tried to play the sentimentality card while sandbagging and acting the exact opposite of a captain at the end. We don't need either because unless Cesc can be a world class DM he can **** right the hell of.

I get very uncomfortable when Arsenal fans get so upset by former players leaving, but even more so when it's someone of the calibre of Cesc who gave so many fantastic years to the club. I won't deny it hurts seeing him in a Chelsea shirt but we could have re-signed him and think some people need some perspective.

The selling of/re-signing of a certain Spanish player has been done to death on this board.I think it's time to move on now.

for my part , this argument is not about Fabregas playing for us of chelsea or anyone .

Just the total over reaction to Fabregas having a good game and therefore , it stands to reason that every other team in the PL is screwed ,i e .. Chavs have got Fabregas now , season over .

    Unbelievable.

I dont care about him , we could have signed him , we didnt .the end

I hope he does well at Chelsea , am i going to give them the title now ...........no thanks .

Meh, I've long since given up on thinking anyone bar Arsenal fans will rate Arsenal!

    Media-wise there's:

    The Chelsea/Maureen love-in.
    VG United rennaissance love-in.
Man City all the players love-in.
    Rodgers/Liverpool "people's champions" love-in.

You have 3-4 clubs each season who will get patronised to hell. Burnley and Leicester will bear the brunt on this but some of the comments to Gary Monk post United win were nauseating!

Spurs and Arsenal will probably end up in the "choke-meisters" category by the media again. In all honesty we've not helped ourselves there in recent seasons so I'm prepared for it.

Ah well, let the season commence. I especially look forward to some nice neutral analysis from the giant brains of Carragher and Redknapp!
