Nothing fails to surprise me with their mentality these days, I have heard so many harp on about the league table at present after one game !!

The sheer stupidy is insane we played the champions and to be fair should have nicked a point and they gained one point against one of their relegation rivals and to be fair a point for them was a tad lucky on what I have seen from the highlights and the media coverage

The other discuss which I keep hearing them say is how **** Jack colback is but by word do they harp on and on it's like pele left them, I know he has been brought in to replace gosling but if he plays like he did on Sunday then I can see why they are so sour about it.

WBA were lucky by the way, the ref was crap, Roberge NEVER pulled the players shirt as the ref stated, he touched him with his elbow to give them a jammy pen. Colback is a grafter and works bloody hard in midfield, but does not create much, but Rodwell is better and when we sign Borini we will be top a 4 team ! hehe.

Meh, based on his performance vs City he looks better than Rodwell. He doesn't create a lot in open play, but we didn't sign him for creativity. However, he does deliver a very good set piece. We came close a few times through his deliveries, and that's something we really lacked last season.

I'd take Colback for nothing over Rodwell for 10m.

Colback is a pile steaming dog turd man. You will be booing him after half a dozen games.

It all remains to be seen, that's the "beauty" of football.

However, before the benefit of hindsight, I couldn't agree more with Tash – Colback for NOWT over Rodwell for £10m any time, any day, any week, any month of any year.

We would say that though and you would naturally disagree. Shocking that innit?

Colback's a canny player really just sick of you lot bigging him up to be something he isn't.

Well he was on a free and not exactly chased by everyone was he? Plus we weren't that overwhelmed when linked.

But thus far he looks a decent, hungry, honest (as any footballer can be) player and maddeningly for you guys proud to be at Newcastle.

That'll get him a long way here but I suspect any more silly overstatement of his ability is precisely to annoy SAFC fans, just ignore it.

While I agree we wouldn't have wanted Rodwell for £10m I'm sure he'll do very well for Sunderland, good luck to him!

It's encouraging stuff but he has played almost half hour more there. One game, still early days...

Ultimately it'll be decided on who does most damage to the other in the derbies anyway! :D

Every newcastle fan knew he was brought in as a squad player and he is a better option than as I said gosling so that's progression but the amount of hype about his move by Sunderland fans have proves he will be missed.

So the only reason people have been bigging up his performance on Sunday is on the back of the thousands of Sunderland fans slating him the main person who stood out was Cabella who will be the real deal

It's going to be interesting when de jong and tiote comes back to in as to who loses out as finally we have some real strength in midfield.

Rodwell on paper could be a superb signing as the lad has potential to be a great player but his injury record could be a key factor but time will tell.

He won't be dropped for man city. He was very good for me. I hate to say it but better than tiote's normal day. Now an on his day tiote is a beast but that comes about once in a blue moon. Pards really has some selection problems coming up for villa. Good news being obertan will not be near the field hopefully.

You must either be thick as pig **** or watched a different game, jealousy is a very ugly trait to have you know ?

The best thing about his performance was it was his first game on English football for a new club imagine when he settles, the amount of fouls city gave on him highlighted they struggled against him.

Must be a dark time for you boys as your squad is actually in a weaker place then last year when you stayed up by the skin of your teeth

Just shows the genius of Newcastle supporters when compared to their Sunderland counterparts on accessing the quality of a player
