Seb Larsson - no glory bringer but would have been a good squad player
Craig Gardner - would have been good backup to Tiote/Barton/Cabaye
    Conor Whickam - great prospect

Im tasting a bit of jealousy in my mind <yikes>

Didn't think Wickham wanted to go there, as Liverpool and Arsenal are meant to be interested.

I'll be surprised if Wickham ends up there -- though credit to them for trying to beat the bigger clubs to him.
I actually have nothing bad to say about their transfer window so far, I think both NE teams are doing what's needed so far. Though I adamantly disagree with Bruce saying it's fine to load up on temporary loans. But hey, I'm all for them repeating their performance from the second half of last season.

Liverpool will probaly bid like 20 mil for Wickham. Im bored of waking up with no news about us. Its all about Taylor and Enrique. I want strikers.

Good signings for them, but being honest none of them would get in our starting XI.

    -----------Harper/Krul
    Simpson--Taylor--Colo--Enrique
    ---------Tiote----Cabaye
    Barton------Ben Arfa------Jonas
    ---------------Ba

Larsson is ****e. Imagine a slightly better Ryan Taylor, yet people go on about him like he's amazing. I was glad when he didn't sign for us

Gardner is good, not as good as what we have but I'd definitely've like him to challenge for a first team spot.

Wickham, well, who knows? Decent prospect but lots of money, simply because he's an English CF

100%. Put one of them in that team, being honest with yourself.

I agree Wickham would be surprising but maybe the prospect of first team football is too good to turn down.

Imagine NUFC come in with a late bid and secure him on a five year deal. Would fill the Carroll void.

Gardner isn't better than Cabaye or Tiote

Larsson definitely isn't better than either Barton or Jonas

  11. Rofl -

    Wickham - Unproven
Gardner - Not as good as most of our midfielders and cost more than all of them
    Westwood - PMSL
Larsson - Over payed toss pot

    They're trying to buy -

Oshea - Nearly 30, decent player but not that great.
Wes Brown - 30, not that great.
Gibson - No better than Guthrie or Raylor.

Yes, i'm so jelous. Cabaye, Marvauex and Ba are **** compared to the quality Sunderland have signed so far....

Larsson would no way get in our team ahead of Barton
Cabaye + Tiote are both better than Gardner
Wickham hardly set the championship on fire since he broke into the first team, excellent prospect but i doubt he'll play much this season for you

Gardner has 17 career goals, 10 of which came last season. He isnt some goalscoring dynamo and certainly is not better than Tiote, Barton, Cabaye or Ben Arfa.

Larsson is Swedish Ryan Taylor. Think about it. Can play RW/RB, great crosser, great at set plays, and not especially quick or technically gifted. He's even the same age.

Wickham is a prospect which SAFC are overpaying for because he is English, he isnt a consistent scorer in the Championship, let alone in the PL and Ba's proven in the PL with nearly a goal every other game throughout his career.

Come to think of it Cabaye and Demba Ba are quite good aquisitions for you guys. I'd take Cabaye over Gardener, Demba Ba is a goalscoring machine whereas Wickham will need time to settle in the league.

Ben Arfa is underrated and unrecognised as a talent by fans other than Newcastle United fans.

NUFC's signings add more depth to the team than Sunderland's. (Excluding Wickham who has great potential)

  15. We also have Ben Arfa coming back and Marvauex ;)

I'm not exactly shaking. Larsson is ****e imo. He did nothing in both games against us.
    Yong Dong Chowmein...who?
Gardner, not bad, but we have better.
Whickam, unproven, good prospect but goal scoring record isn't prolific, over rated imo.

It's always the same though, isn't it? We got this all of last season. None of last season's team would have made your team. That sort of made sense after the 5-1, but then we put a heck of a run together (incl. the 3-0 at Chelsea) and STILL none of ours were good enough. Honestly...

Well who of those signings would get in then? Wasnt a difficult question, really.

  20. No, i think i would have taken Onouha in place of Simpson and Mensah when he was in form, ahead of Williamson. I also would have taken both Bent and Gyan ahead of anyone of our strikers apart from Carroll.
