Hearing that if Man U don't get Van Gaal's transfer targets in this week, he is going to quit. Please let this be true.
Lol... probably realises his squad is Crap and no way he'll get 4th so will be fired end of season anyway. Be hilarious if he goes now so they'll be on manager 5 in 15 months.

Tony Pulis walked away from Crystal Palace, 48 hours before the Eagles’ season-opener against Arsenal, on Thursday evening after a fall-out with co-chairman Steve Parish. Manchester United should learn a valuable lesson from the saga at Selhurst Park: back Louis van Gaal in the transfer market, or risk losing the best manager for the job. The Dutch coach, who replaced David Moyes as United’s permanent manager earlier this season, is believed to be frustrated - like Pulis was at Palace - at the lack of transfer activity that has taken place at Old Trafford since his arrival. Related links - Louis van Gaal could leave Man Utd next season - Van Gaal could be beaten to top targets by Mourinho - Van Gaal could be beaten to top targets by Wenger United's transfer activity has been pitiful The Red Devils were expected to spend big this summer in an effort to galvanise their squad which, lest we forget, finished seventh in the Premier League table last season. But, with just over two weeks to go before the transfer window closes, United have made the fewest signings of all 20 clubs in England’s top flight. Ander Herrera arrived on June 26, Luke Shaw signed a day later - but, since then, nothing. Oh, apart from 17-year-old Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic, who has been loaned back to the FK Vojvodina and will probably never make a single Premier League appearance for the Red Devils. Woodward: Not cut out for the job? It’s been another embarrassing effort from United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who can certainly talk the talk, but struggles to do much of any real use. Almost a month has passed since Woodward brazenly proclaimed that Van Gaal, if the right player came along, would be given the green light to smash the world transfer record. And he now has 16 days to follow up his words with decisive actions. Failure to do so will leave United severely short - particularly from a defensive point of view - and in danger again of failing to qualify for the Champions League. Risks for United Two weeks ago, a prospectus to potential investors issued by the Glazer family - Manchester United’s controversial owners - warned that the club could lose some of their top players and coaching staff if they fail to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition for a second consecutive season. But United will fail to qualify for the top four if September 1 comes and goes and all they have to show for an entire summer are the faces of Herrera and Shaw, two fine players but clearly not enough. Chelsea and Manchester City look very strong, as do Arsenal and Liverpool. Then there are the likes of Everton and Tottenham to contend with. A top-four finish is by no means a certainty. Far from it, in fact. Van Gaal is a world-class coach and does not tolerate fools easily. Woodward must prove, over the next two weeks, that he is no fool - or risk the Dutch coach walking away from Old Trafford just months into his three-year contract.
If he does then he has good reason too!. LVG has a history of bad relations with owners and if he was promised a certain budget and he doesn't get it why should his reputation be tarnished as Moyes's was with a team he has had no input in.
I don't get the vitriol towards Woodward from united fans - didn't he clearly say the money was there to spend freely just for this type of circumstance? To me it seems like LVG is the one faffing around like a headless chicken, looking at the obvious options and getting quoted ridiculous prices as it's clear they're desperate. It's weird that such a high profile manager has made so few of his "own" signings. Like br did with his lovechild Allen etc
love all these managers who have strops as they don't have enough billions to spend on players lol. makes you wonder why they are thought of so highly if they cant do f** all with no money!! woodward is an easy scapegoat, they don't want to upset the owners or lvg so next obvious scapegoat.
No that's the easy way out for Van Gaal, let us see what the #tacticalgenius is made of Woodward is total **** and deserves a lot of blame though #vangaalforlife
I think its cos he looks like a dork and is an easy target for under performance. Its anything bar blame the god like ferguson for allowing his last team to crumble or not having a conveyor belt of young talent that was good enough (and frankly they only once generated their own players) or for choosing the disastrous moyes as his replacement. No it must be the new guys fault despite him only working (and apparently well) on sponsorships It rather sounds like Utd have inherited the ayre haters My opinion is that Mr Van gaal has been an international manager since 2011.. before that spent 4 years at Az and then 2 years at bayern where he was focused on youth and so has not got the scouting network that might be needed to instantly identify 6 players to buy here. In a years time he will know who he'll want and he will I have no doubt cleared house at under age level and set utd to rights. however the fruits cannot be instant and honestly looking at my own club we have a very young side but have moved the youth coaching and recruitment around so much that we are not seeing anything but young buys come through and those are not being replaced at this point so LFC could dry up in terms of youth in 2 years... we're not perfect either. But.... its not about LFC its all about hating woodward.... and thats to avoid seeing the STATE ferguson left utd in. And that my friends and wums is a mirror image of the state kenny dalglish left LFc in back in 1991. Aging "stars" little youth coming in and a squad about to fall apart. Utd got shut of moyes rather than what we did with souness who we backs for 3 years buying total muck and then we stuck and insider back in. Utd have gone for the big name who's 61. If he fails Utd will prob keep going to big names. At 61 Van gaal has 2/3 years at this job realistically to deliver a title? then retire? best of luck with that given the competition.
This would be brilliant but listening to Talkshite last night made me laugh... I know Woodward made himself a target by telling everyone that united were ready to drop £100m on players and then dropping out from buying anyone due to price but everyone is going on like United haven't spent in the past 2 years. Fellani, Mata, Herrera & Shaw represent £120m in business with barely £10m coming back in Their net spend since fergie left is the same as Chelsea & City combined and this is a team up to their eyes in debt, out of the champions league and they will face serious sanctions from their sponsors if they miss another couple of years of CL
They got a massive kit deal but about £30m of it is based on getting into the CL next season A lot of players have used the threat of going to Man Utd just to negotiate better contracts without actually wanting to go there
We had something similar last seaso nwhen we tried to sign Costa. It is fun watching united flounder... say he quit in Spetember, who could yet get in as a replacement? Pulis?
I've no idea how close to the truth this rumour is but it is par for the course. I have been saying for a long time that the loss of Ferguson was less important than the losses that United suffered in its executive management. This problem has been exacerbated by the 'power' squabble within the owning family. All of this leaves the club with a lack of true direction. Now Van Gaal has a reputation when it comes to his management 'style'. So I'll ask you a question. If you were the quality of player that United now desperately needs, would you immediately say yes to a manager who shouts and screams and has a reputation of taking against players on a personal basis? Doesn't bode well. Take the manager aside, if you were that type of player who do you see in the United side who you would really want to play with? Finally go back to the money. When United, the pundits and their fans were all proclaiming that United were "going to spend big" to resolve their problems, I said the owners were more likely to sit on their hands. Now people on this and other boards called me an idiot but the simple facts are there - the Glazers do not need to risk loads of dosh for at least 3/4 seasons!
Sherwood is about to get snapped up by Palace Pulis would want a club with some defenders and discipline, so no chance
Great shout IMO But they haven't. They've signed Felliani, Mata, Herrera and Shaw, all around the £30m mark.
