I've had that injury, I'm older than him and you need lots of physio to re-arrange the small muscles around the knee to "pull it back into position". 4 months minimum IMO
4 months is being generous. We won't see him this season. Need to replace him IMO. Back in the market for a midfielder.
so we sign a midfielder for big money who crocks his knee on his Premier League debut - sadly nothing new there.
I guess he will get intense physio, so maybe will recover quicker than you would. Swimming might me a good way of strengthening it muscle wise once he is ready to get to the stage of exercising again.
Worst thing is it will likely always be weak from now. Not done it myself but my lass dislocated her knee cap on Christmas Eve this Christmas just gone, and even after countless hours of physio/doctors/scans and what have you it's still f**ed after 8 and a half months and she can't run, jump or even kneel down on it yet. Definitely need a new creative centre mid. More important signing than a striker now IMO.
Just spoken to a physio friend who says that there are different extents of dislocation, so simply saying out for 4/6/8 months is not really appropriate. The shortest recovery time we can really expect will be the end of December but if the surrounding damage is more serious it could be next season & in a very bad case surgery may be needed
Not necessarily, he's young, fit and has the best support advice and team I was back playing football but it took me 6 months recovery
The Daily Star story is true. 4 months minimum but could be up to 6 months!! Its still hard to tell the absolute extent of the damage as the knee is still swollen
Hdm stating reports in the national media about Snodgrass being out for 4mths are premature, he's to have further scans this week.
Once you have dislocated a knee (or any joint) they are very susceptible to further dislocations. A family friend has now dislocated her knee cap 3 times - an unlucky hat trick.
I have dislocated the kneecap playing Aussie Rules. It is in the mindset of the player that determines if they can get over the mindshock of such a reality distorting injury. to whether they play again to their previous level. Usually NOT.. I fear Snodders may not be the same guy ever again. Get Well Soon Snodds...
I first did my left knee at 18. 10 years later and I've done both knees twice and gave up football when I was 20!
Iv'e just read all reports are wrong as the pysio is waiting for the swelling to go down and he is to have another scan tomorrow ... HDM
