Not at all. Ricky Van Wolfswinkle has better goalscoring stats in the Portuguese leagues. 3 tap ins in the World Cup doesn't make him a good player. I'd be more gutted if we spent £8m on him than £12m for Deeney.
Got to agree. He looked promising in the WC2014 but a World Cup is no way to judge a player, and as probably no one even knew he existed until June, it'd be a bit of a gamble to spend any reasonable sum on him.
