Kerr-ching. Those sell on clauses are great - except when we will owe Walsall a wedge from the Deeney deal.
My colleague who supports West Ham said this afternoon something about Deeney being linked with Hull, although he didn't say where he read it, so he could've just been trying to wind me up.
I suspect that Deeney will not go in this window. But if he carries on banging them in, he will be a bigger target for a club struggling in the Prem and will command a fee more like £15m in the New Year window.
SkyBet Championship ‏@Transfer_News24 28m Millwall are weighing up a move for Watford forward Mathias Ranegie.
Well he has already signed a Frenchman and Jamaican this summer.. Perhaps Holloway thinks the bloke is "world class" Linked to a couple of Italian goalkeepers in past few days.
I'm sure Mr Holloway would not object to us selling him to them and then loaning him back till the end of the season.
Confirmed, can't see him doing too well there mind you, not our problem! http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/11410131.Hornets_to_receive___225_000_after_Buckley_joins_Sunderland/ Back with Poyet, I guess he must miss him from their Brighton days.
Found another rumour at long last. http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esclusiva-tmw-palermo-il-watford-su-daprela-584637 A Swiss defender who played at West Ham when Nani was there I think.
Sky Sports understands reports that Leicester City have had a third bid for Watford striker Troy Deeney rejected are wide of the mark. Reports emanating from the Midlands claim Leicester have offered £10 million, rising to £12 million, for Deeney However, contrary to reports, Sky Sports has learnt that Leicester have only tabled one bid of £6.5m which was rejected by Watford. Deeney has been the subject of bids from a host of clubs this summer, with Queens Park Rangers and Burnley seeing offers rebuffed for the prolific striker. Hull City are also thought to have registered their interest in Deeney as they look to bring in a replacement for Shane Long. Sky Sports understands Deeney is growing increasingly frustrated with Watford's stance over his future, feeling they are pricing him out a move. Deeney is upset with the club's director of football Gianluca Nani for so far blocking any move, feeling he had an agreement to move on for a sensible price after agreeing to stay on for another season after losing in the play-off final to Crystal Palace in the 2012/13 season. The striker, who joined Watford from Walsall in 2010 for a bargain £500,000 fee, feels a profit of over £6million for his signature would be sufficient recompense for his service to the club. Deeney is keen to have his future resolved in the next few days or he might be forced to hand in a transfer request. Just where does this come from?
OFH - I saw this story on Saturday about an hour after the WO stated the club were not selling. Don't think any truth in it except maybe a club or agent trying to destabilise the situation. Came out before the Norwich game.
Have learn't over recent months to take Sky Sports reports with something like a pinch of salts. To many occassions they have come out with a story " Sky Sports sources inform us" or words to the like only for the item to have been on the BBC website hours before. I remember them "breaking" the Rio signs for QPR at around 7pm having already read it on the BBC before 4pm. They also have over inflated transfer fees. This just smacks of another piece of jourrnalism putting lots of things together to make a story out of nothing. Deeney has never come out and said he would like to move on now and it seems he likes being the big fish in a small pond and I would expect will be feeling that he could have another prolific season in front of goal for us that will give him a nailed on move next year if we are not promoted anyhow. He will have seen the clubs intent in gaining promotion this season, so he really is in a win, win postion and would enjoy being a striker who has scored 20+ goals in three back to back seasons and the limelight that would bring.
Apparently we may be interested in a defender called Bergstrum as well as other clubs: http://www.teamtalk.com/wigan-athletic/9429765/-
http://www.udineseblog.it/articolo/...er_Bruggen-points-_ma_per_il_Watford/4/178596 Yet another midfielder? Udinese looking to sign Hannes Van Der Bruggen from Gent - and loan him to us straight away...
http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/fulham-and-watford-target-move-for-dutch-striker/ Doesn't actually appear to be the sort of prolific striker we would need to replace Troy, if he were to leave...
