So with that scoring record, what will it take from Sturridge from here on in to be considered one of the top strikers in Europe? Replicate it in the CL, sustained form? Or?

Do it in the CL and this season.

If he does that as well as improving his all round play then i'll say it <ok>

At the moment, yes his goal scoring stats are very very good, but his general play can be improved upon greatly. He still takes 1 too many touches on the ball at times and always wants to beat his man when playing a simple pass is more effective.

  4. He needs to change nationality and add a "inho" to his name #sturridginho

If he played for United he would be called the black Pele and be earning £400k p/w.

    Goals to game ratio 1.39

Would be interesting to see how strikers across the main leagues in Europe compare.

Too lazy to look it up, but I very much doubt there are many better, if any??

Genuin question, how do you all think Fowler or Torres would have done in the team you have had for the last 18 months. Would they have been deadly or changed the flow of the team?

    True.

But this season he's our loan striker (at present), so it is all about the goals. It's players like Sterling, Coutinho, Markovic, Henderson that it's not all about the goals.

Sustained form, though 18 months is no flash in the pan.

They would have scored a bunch too. Hard to say more or less.

Torres had Gerrard as his (non sexual you perverts) partner when Gerrard was at his peak and playing higher up.

Torres days were all about Torres. Studge has scored a bunch in an era all about Suarez.

Rafa had a more conservative style with Torres in the team compared to Big Rods team.

However, we're more" team" oriented now. Everyone is expected to get goals, not just the front.

So hard to say if Torres was better or Studge.

I'll go out on a limb and say Studge is better than David N'Gog though. And Torres was better than Aspas.

Suarez assisted many of Sturridge`s goals, i think Torres would have benefitted from this. Fowler just scored goals from anything but not sure he would have fit your recent style.

This is the season that cements Sturridge's reputation. One season doesn't make you a superstar.

  17. If one season doesn't make you a superstar, how come you think this season will give him the reputation <whistle>

PS...before you answer in your usual arse like manner, I'm taking the piss <ok>

Poor Sturridge. He might be trapped in a Groundhog Day scenario when it comes to fandom collective memory. Every successful season is ever only his first. He does pout and trot like a f*cking hamster, so the futile hamster wheeling is a fitting punishment for him.
