When i was younger and in school my mate had a season ticket with his dad and we used to share it and i remember going as a supporter to owens debut. But i just couldn't get excited about it anymore and i didn't feel the passion when they scored anymore and my brother is a Sunderland season ticket holder and i went to a game with him because he had a spare ticket and fell in love with Sunderland.

    TURNCOAT IPL - RECIPE
A true lager, brew and carbonate this beer cool (about 55°F, 12°C) for best flavor
MAKES APPROX. 2 GALLONS OF BEER IN ABOUT 3 WEEKS.
    OG: 1.059 (approx.) -- FG: 1.015(approx.)
Suggested lager time is 1 to 2 months.

    Flavor: Hoppy
    ABV (alc/vol): 5.9%
    SRM (Color): 8
    IBU (Bitterness): 43

What's an IPL, you ask? You take all of the hop-forward citrus and piney hop goodness of an India Pale Ale and smooth it out with a lager yeast. Flavor full, with a serious bite and all the crisp smoothness you would expect from a great lager. By George, I think I'll have one!

    RECIPE INCLUDES:
1 Can Northwest Pale Ale HME
1 Packet Dry Brewing Yeast (under lid of HME)
1 Packet Saflager W-34/70 Dry Lager Yeast
1 BrewMax LME Softpack - Smooth
1 1/2 oz. Packet Zythos Hop Pellets
    1 Muslin Hop Sack
    1 Packet No-Rinse Cleanser

    STEP 1: SANITIZING

Follow the steps outlined in your MR.BEER® BEER KIT INSTRUCTIONS. (You can find a copy of these instructions to download by clicking on the "Kits" tab of the website.)

NOTE: BE SURE TO SANITIZE EVERYTHING THAT WILL COME INTO CONTACT WITH YOUR BEER.

    STEP 2: BREWING

Brewing beer is the process of combining a starch source (in this case malt extract) with yeast. Once combined, the yeast eats the sugars in the malt, producing alcohol and carbon dioxide (CO2). This process is called fermentation.

Remove the yeast packet from under the lid of the can of hopped malt extract (HME), it's not needed for this recipe, then place the unopened HME can and LME softpack in hot tap water.a
Place the pellet hops into the hop sack tying it closed, then trim away excess material.
Using the measuring cup, pour 4 cups of water into your clean 3-quart or larger pot, then bring water to a boil, add in hop sack,b then remove from heat.
Open the HMEc and the LME, pour the contents into the hot mixture. Stir until thoroughly mixed. This mixture of unfermented beer is called wort.
Fill keg with cold tap water to the 4-quart mark on the back.d
Pour the wort into the keg, and then bring the volume of the keg to the 8.5-quart mark by adding more cold water. Stir vigorously with the spoon or whisk. e
Sprinkle ONLY the Saflager W-34/70 yeast packet into the keg, and screw on the lid. Do not stir.
Put your keg in a location with a consistent temperature between 51° and 59° F (10°-15° C) and out of direct sunlight.f Ferment for 14-18 days.g
After approximately 72 hours, you will be able to see the fermentation process happening by shining a flashlight into the keg. You'll see the yeast in action in the wort. The liquid will be opaque and milky, you will see bubbles rising in the liquid, and there will be bubbles on the surface.

Your fermentation will usually reach its peak in 5to 8 days (this is also known as “high krausen”). You may see a layer of foam on top of the wort, and sediment will accumulate at the bottom of the fermenter. This is totally normal. Complete fermentation will take approximately 2 weeks.
After high krausen the foam and activity will subside and your batch will appear to be dormant. Your beer is still fermenting. The yeast is still at work slowly finishing the fermentation process.

    Step 3: BOTTLING AND CARBONATING

Follow the steps outlined in your MR.BEER® BEER KIT INSTRUCTIONS. (You can find a copy of these instructions to download by clicking on the "Kits" tab of the website.)

    Footnotes

Hot water will help the syrup-like malt inside the can and softpack pour more easily.
Hops will remain part of the wort during the fermentation.
The can is more easily opened from the bottom.
Between 40° and 60°F. Tap water, bottled spring water or charcoal-filtered tap water all work great. Most sources of water (even hard water) work just fine, but be sure not to use highly chlorinated water or water with high levels of iron in it. These can produce off-flavors.
Stirring will introduce oxygen to the wort that gives the yeast what it will need to begin fermenting.
It is extremely important that you maintain a steady temperature between 51° and 59°F. Too cold-the yeast will go dormant. Too warm-the yeast will produce off-flavors.
Be sure to place in a safe place that is free of important items that should not get wet. Don't forget beer is a liquid.

I supported both as a kid, still do to an extent.

Wouldn't go to St James' Park though. Thing's wonky as ****. Clearly toppling soon.

My dad tried to get me to support Newcastle but I took my mums side. Never been to St James Park but I did take my dad to see Newcastle on his birthday at villa park once. They got beat, I was the only happy person in the away end that day. I had a good wash when I got home ;)

I started off supporting Villa because I liked the strip, then it was Sheffield Wed because I went to the stadium for a school friends birthday and everyone at school supported them. I distinctly remember us asking the kids dad on the drive there why Freddie Mercury died and he told us it was because he caught a disease from having sex with dogs.

When I was a little bit older I discovered the joys of supporting Sunderland and never looked back. It runs in the family so it was always going to happen.

I have plenty of mag family & mates but I'd rather have my foreskin chopped off with hedge cutters than support those ****ers.

I never had the chance to decide who to support! From since before i can remember i have always supported Sunderland! I remember us being relegated to the third tier for the first time! However my earliest memory where i can recollect actually caring was when i was listening on the radio when Paul Hardyman missed the penalty against the town and subsequently booting him in the face on the rebound for a sending off! Shear ecstasy turning to total despair within seconds! I cried! And for the most part i have been crying ever since!

Used to take one of my nephews to Roker and his brother the next week to Sid James's but it just didn't feel right - in fact we must of stuck out like a sore thumb as we were the only f***ers that had been washed

Really? I love going me like, well recently I do anyway!

Most relaxed away game, as we know in advance we are gonna win 3-0, I don't know why they don't just forfeit...

Nowt against you as people mate & you come across as a great lad.
Like I said the other night, I'd stand shoulder to shoulder with some of your lot.
    I just hate your club.
And derby day all friendships are put on hold.
