Naples are a scummy club with scummy fans so we should expect this. Jenkins is likely to tell them to get lost if we have other irons in the fire.
Players don't need rest this early so we should play a full strength side against rotherham and burnley and use the subs well in each game. winning breeds winning no mater whether it's a cup match or the league. we are not in the same position as last season being 2pts off relegation and in the final quarter of the season where we had no choice but to put the league first.
Would be great to get him, but if Napoli are messing us about, tell em to get stuffed.... We managed on Saturday without him !
Swansea expect to complete the signing of Argentina World Cup defender Federico Fernandez on Tuesday. The 25-year-old will make the move to the Liberty Stadium from Italian side Napoli for a fee understood to be in excess of £7million. Fernandez will be a direct replacement for Chico Flores, who joined former Swansea manager Michael Laudrup in Qatar last week. The centre-half made nearly 60 appearances for Napoli after arriving from Argentinian club Estudiantes in 2011 but went out on loan to Spanish club Getafe last season where he made 14 La Liga appearances. Fernandez started the first four of Argentina's matches during their run to the World Cup final in Brazil before missing the rest of the tournament through injury. The player spent Monday in Swansea undergoing the final part of his medical and the deal will be completed on Tuesday. Fernandez should make his Swansea debut at home to Burnley on Saturday as Garry Monk's men seek to build on their shock 2-1 opening-day victory at Manchester United.
Agreed, just don't like being pissed about by some eyetalian (sic) owner looking to hold us to ransom. Who do they think they are ...HJenkins... Lol

With the squad we have now, it's going to be very hard to name our starting 11 when everyone is fully fit. A superb signing to go alongside our other great signings this summer.
Just noticed Fernandez has said his goodbye's to the Napoli fans on twitter so its looking good. I really hope to see something official today and i'm a happy man.
After all the doom and gloom of Monk getting appointed (and he wouldn't have been my first choice at the time) things are really looking on the up right now. If we beat Burnley and put in a good performance my optimism will be through the roof! Still a little nervous until this is officially announced though.
