Probably the minimum amount he could have received for assaulting an official. Almost certainly to his credit that he admitted the offence. It's a shame, but by all accounts Garrido acquitted himself well against Watford and he is more than capable at this level, if obviously nowhere near as good as Olsson. Should mean Olsson is guaranteed to be with us for at least until January though
It was pretty dumb to try push the red card back in the refs pocket, but it`s not exactly a Joey Barton moment. Silly boy but at least he took it on the chin ,there was no point in appealing.
I think this is definitely best case scenario. Accept the punishment and move on. I would imagine he's been disciplined internally by the club as well. I know there really wasn't a whole lot in it, but I certainly don't want Norwich City players laying hands on officials.
I hope the club hits him hard in his wage packet over this, **** knows what he was thinking when he pushed the ref! I'm more than a little nervous having Garrido against the binners.
By then Garrido will have played two and a half matches and so will be, technically, match fit. He is ok, his only real issue is pace. I'm not worried about him, he remains better than his opposite number. I'm more worried about how motivated our players will be.
It could actually turn out to be good for us if Garrido knows he will be playing in the next 3 games and plays well, competition in all positions is important.
I've got no concerns about Garrido, he should be one of the best LBs in this division and would walk into the vast majority of other Championship teams.
He certainly played his part in Saturday's victory and has the opportunity to make the position his own!!!!
Exactly, I´ve never fully understood some people´s concern about Garrido, what he lacks a bit in pace, he can more than make up for with experience. I accept that he´s unlikely to be 1st choice at Prem level, but here he´s more than capable enough, and actually I think Whittaker on the other side, is as much or even possibly more of a liability than Garrido.
I didn't see it as a push. My reading of it was that he instinctively put his hand over the referee's pocket to stop him producing the card. Silly, but not aggressive. Nevertheless I think a 3 match ban for anyone touching a ref is OK. Just not sure how this guy got away with it... http://youtu.be/ZP1N4PWneMI
I thought the referee Simpson was atrocious not only was the 1st yellow card and blatant foul against Martin dodgy but he should perhaps consider joining a gym too.
Unless they sign anyone new over the next few days, Ipswich aren't a side blessed with much in the way of pace so hopefully Garrido's lack of it won't be too problematic. Fingers crossed anyway!
I thought Garrido did well in his first year at the club and was unlucky to find himself behind Olsson last year. IMO, it's good that he'll have a run of games and hopefully show what he can do.
DH, you are absolutely spot on, we haven't got huge amounts of pace out wide, just terrific workrate and organisation. Only if we play hensall will we have any pace in a wide area, and he in all likelyhood won't be near a starting place. I must admit, I am worried about the prospect of redmond against chambo.
