Anyone seen the "Ice Bucket Challenge" videos creeping through...? There is one of Studge and Gerrard doing it here... http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/169133-stevie-studge-take-ice-bucket-challenge ...and I've just seen this one too: Since he mentions it...
why would any moron want to join this fun. this is not as bad as the morons who print a pint of whiskey or whatever but still... the only people laughing are those who think those participating are morons. Its not cool kids...
Because its for charity...? You're not meant to just watch the videos or perform the challenge, you're meant to make a donation too. And yes, the "neck nominations" was stupid
I was reading an article the other day about jobs that paid surprisingly highly. One of the jobs was a power line inspector helicopter pilot. In the readers comment section beneath the article someone said that was a job that would likely be replaced by a drone in the future, another reader responded with 'yeah like they're going to be able to teach a drone to fly a helicopter'. I laughed out loud.
There's big danger money in that I bet. same for replacing the ceramic part on power lines etc. sure do it with a drone if you like to reduce the risk but hey.... still a big responsibility to public.
meh... i just looked at work with no sound and just said this is thick so no donation from me. Ice bucket my arse. I thought it'd be a who can keep theri hand in ice water longest thing but no. and i've done skydiving for charity so i am qualified to speak on thicko events... though is it sky who did the crazy cycling or running charity event??
It's a publicity stunt too. Facebook and Twitter are the best platforms for getting the word out so they've done something that everyone can do our relate to. Keeping it simple is key if the aim is to go far. Sky dive is great fun for the person doing and you can usually raise a fair chunk of cash doing it too. Depends what the objectives are
I might start a fundraiser. I'll say something complimentary about Manchester United if people agree to pay a charity of my choice in exchange. That's pretty daring, no?
i didnt see him do a lot when i watched bits and pieces. i only realized at ht i had it on my virgin (must have been first day of season so free type thing as i dont normally have it.) so i saw a half only. he had moments of looking like he might do something but didnt, dont know, think he will come good but wasn't a great debut, but then they usually aren't any way are they, new club and country as well to contend with.
The object of these type of fundraising events though is for the fundraiser to do something scary to them personally [?] that others might pay to watch - I don't want to see utd compliments so I won't sponsor you ...... no offence like
Was wondering if the hype would get to him also are we pleased a target who turned us down turns out to be a bit useless. Not saying he is useless, obviously, based on one game. As long as Arsenal finish below us it's all good.
Our company has them for that exact reason Just started using them as it allows them to get closer to look at lines etc but they still use helicopters as allows them to travel bigger distances quicker
The drones don't do any actual work on the overhead lines, they are used to spot and damage to the network. Fixes it is still done by linesmen (or linespeople if we're being PC).
Speaking of drones you seen this lads? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/watch-amazing-drone-footage-shows-7613714
