In Dunford's parting statement, he said: "My participation over the last two years has dwindled to mostly giving financial support and I hope the board can find someone young and energetic to replace me." It would be fair to say we now have lost his financial support. What impact does that have on us now, for example, does this mean we wont have the finances to bring in other signings? Will we actually get another person in to replace him like he hopes will happen? Will he be the only board member to stand down? Im sure there is many more questions to add to this that we all want to know. But nothing from the club with any info on what will happen now. I cant believe that the club would make it public that Dunford has resigned without having a statement in place to go with the story to explain their intentions of the next steps. Things like... Intention to put the club up for sale Intention to seek a new person to join the board to replace Dunford Intention not to replace him Change existing board members roles More departures from the boardroom to come etc etc They could and should have asked Dunford to stay quiet until they get a plan and statement in place to go with the story. Instead they have created further questions and worries amongst fans having no idea what is going on!
I asked Brian Seymour-Smith via twitter whats going on! Surely a club statement about what happens next should have been made at the time Dunford resigned, like, We are sad to announce the resignation of Dunford. Here is his statement [insert Dunfords statement]. Higgs though would like to express the plans for the future of the running of the club [insert Higgs statement]. Therefore we all know whats going on. Yet nothing. BSS response was "Really for Chairman to update you on the boardroom! Take care Bri" My response "Thanks Bri, but when? Shouldnt that update already have happened the same time it was announced Geoff Dunford had resigned?" BSS response "Again Nick's review. Now he has returned im sure an update soon!" So he has been away on his hols then but is now back. Hopefully something soon. But I have doubts that whenever we receive this update from Higgs that it wont actually tell us anything and will just create more questions and more frustration and anger.

I know what im going to say now will upset a few but its my opinion. Geoff didnt save us. His father Dennis did and Geoff has lived off his dads reputation. However, Geoff has pumped money in and fair shout to that. But you are right, without him we wouldnt be where we are now. We would be in a higher division im sure if it. He along with the rest of the board have been a joke.
