I agree... and you can bet that mourinho at chelsea will go for a single point at citeh as well and be very very happy with it.
Just the two games on MNF last season: 2-2 with Swansea 3-3 with Crystal Palace 2012/2013 - just one game 0-2 loss to WBA 2011/2012 - 3 matches 1-0 loss to Fulham 1-1 draw with Blackburn 0-0 draw with Spurs So yeah not great reading!
Would be happy with a point from this one. Can't see BR starting with Moreno as he would only have been with us 9 days. The "mighty" Johnson will play on the left and we will probably stick with Gerrard and Lucas as defensive mids. Basically we have had it if BR goes with the same team as against the Saints
I don't want to see the same team, maybe Can wlll feature since we have less to lose, or at least start Allen over Lucas Markovic and Moreno available but probably benching it
Last year away to city could have actually been the title decider - had we come away with the draw it should have been bar dodgy decision! This game could well be the same.
Same as other posters, we cannot play Lucas and Gerrard in midfield together. I don't know why Rodgers even played them against Southampton, pretty much every Liverpool fan would have told him it was a stupid idea and we'd be over run - and we were. Play Can or even fecking Joe Allen over Lucas and we'll play better.
Me too in fairness (although we might not be saying that after Monday night ). City were certainly more vulnerable early last season than later on. There's never a great time to play a team this strong but they won't be too comfortable about playing us either. They are favourites for a reason but we're perfectly capable of putting the ****s up them a bit too I'd rather get it out the way now than have to go there during the run in put it that way.
Unless we win, it's not the best time for us to play them. Under BR, our early performances dictate how the season goes on!
----------------Ming Manquilio-Skrtel-Lovren-Johnson ---------------Gerrard ---------Henderson-Can ---------------Coutinho --------Sterling------Sturridge Try and close there midfield down keeping four players in the middle. Would have Enrique if fit for Johnson and I would have Sakho but it seems Rodgers is waiting for a mistake from the guy before dropping him.
3 points from the next two games would be smiled upon by me. City probably should and will beat us, be we probably should and will beat Spurs. If somehow fates get twisted and we beat City but lose to miserable Spurs, I shall accept that as the three ladies that weave fate just being dsylxeic. Anything less than 3 points is unacceptable, and Liverpool should fire the tea lady if we don't get 3 points.
