Was I the only one really not impressed with Wickham when we had him on loan? Didn't even seem to put that much effort in even

Read that somewhere this morning, but in all likelihood I probably read it in the same place you did. Twatter maybe ?

Didn't have much impact in the games he played but then he was probably a bit rusty having hardly played for Sunderland for ages. Surprised they would let him go now though after he single-handedly kept them in the Prem after he went back.

He just came from Shef Wed where he'd played all season having scored 10 goals or something, he was definitely fit and firing before us

I wouldn't be too hasty to judge Wickham on what we saw of him last season. Messi would have looked piss poor in that disorganised load of crap being passed off as a football team in second half of season

I dunno, Ross still managed to score during that time.

I really wouldn't be bothered about Wickham

Wickham will not be coming to Leeds. Gus said he wants to keep him, there are other premiership clubs looking at him. He will not step down to the championship and Cellino will not meet his wage demands. This was just a rumour generated on twitter from an uncredible source. Cellino wouldn't pay Agard what he wanted so i don't know why people think he would pay Wickham a hefty wad.

I think Wickham would be a decent acquisition. But if we get Adryan, that really should be enough. We really don't need more than 25 or 26 players + a few kids pushing on the door.

Oh yeah, good point I forgot that.

Awesome for Sunderland after us though so still think it's odd they'd be prepared to let him go.

To be honest, I think 25-26 + kids is even too much. I'd say a solid squad of 23 and a few kids to rotate in and out. Thing is in the 23 I might even include a few of the kids if I was picking my preferred squad!!

Apparently he wants a massive pay rise because of those 7 or 8 games at the end of the season and they quite rightly aren't prepared to match it. He hasn't done anything before that there.

I think he is a player that showed huge potential once upon a time but got an early move to the prem and it went to his head.

Sunderland want the striker they had on loan from Liverpool and want to bring in one more prolific striker. This means Wickham and the other geezer they had from Wolves a couple of years ago are surplus to requirements. They wanted Byram a couple of weeks ago and were also touting Wickham around West Ham but wanted more than £4m for him, so its a possible deal with Byram going there and we get Wickham and a couple of Million? maybe not as wages are high and Wickham will get a prem birth with Palace, Burnley etc

Fair points Dammed. But just supports my theory that potential newbie aside, we've now got enough to push ourselves up the table.

Donut played him on the wing and had lost the respect of the entire playing squad apart from Hunt and McContract by then. But he had bought their loyalty with those mega bucks contracts.

Whickham and Butland were collateral damage in the stupidity that was the end of donut, Haigh and GFH as an active part of LUFC.

I agree, probably his way of saying if you won't sell for the price I am willing to pay I do have other options.
