yeah THEY have been negative... this fanboy however... loved it all. Come on guys if they fixed all the issues now there'd be nothing to improve on and we'd peak in October. plus rodgers will buy me my dream forward this week
You can go gung ho when there's no expectations from you as Southampton did today - we were expected to win, CL team at home ...... Take nothing away from Southampton but the pressure was on us today.
yeah lovern had it back heeled round him and lucas was asleep as their muck right back (must be muck if nobody bought him in the firesale) swanned past. Blame skertl.... no chance... LFC 4eva!
Skrtel had backed off, just like you said yourself, to about two yards from Mig, ready to re-act, not pro-act.
Indeed, the Soton goal was down to Johnson and Lucas. Johnson for not closing down and Lucas for not following his man.
Biscan... Yep, as I said. Advertised as Liverpool vs Southampton but it's actually Liverpool vs Dortmund
Pause it at 55 min 14 sec. There's only two threatening Soton players floating: Tadic (who has the ball) and Clive. Gerrard is loosely marking Ward-Prouse. Manquillo is on Pelle. Tadic is marked to his left by Johnson, and by Lovren from behind. Lucas gets eyes to strip Tadic off the ball. Clive is soon to become free. Skrtel is the deepest positioned and the only LFC player marking no one in particular and watching in the direction of both Tadic and Clive. Tadic backheels it. Clive runs between Lovren and Skrtel to score.
Lucas lost Clive, however his intention of going towards Tadic was an honest one: crowd him out and get the ball off him. Another player should have covered for Lucas's shift. Skrtel anyone?
https://mediacru.sh/Fr7ypoUST3EO.mp4 clip of their goal. Only thing I'd say about Skrtel is he hould have tucked across a bit after Lovren followed the CF. It left a big gap between the 2 CB's but at the point, there was no "obvious" danger as no player was in that vicinity. Problem comes from Lucas turning and watching the ball, allowing Clyne to run off him and into the big gap. Had Lucas not ball watched he could have blocked off or followed the run and filled that gap.
It's Clyde not Clive and what about the CF in the middle of the box. Manquillo is the wrong side of him and Skrtel is covering infront of him in case a cross comes in. e's in the middle of the areas where, for a RCB is a perfect position originally. And if Lucas had "honest intention to go towards Tadic" why, when he got the ball did Lucas take 2 steps backwards?
