I'm moderator of the Leicester sub-forum and I've seen posters leave because of racial stereotyping so it's my job to be offended on their behalf.
Where is the hypocrisy? Like I said, I need to be ofended on THEIR behalf. Little to nothing winds me up in real life let alone the bloody internet BUT not all people are the same and that's why I need to take a broader look at things like that. Geddit?
You should tell them that if they're offended by some stranger on the internet, then adult life isn't for them.
You'll never understand so this conversation is utterly pointless... But it's my job to sort out any issues that the posters have without including my personal opinion because like I've said, some posters do get offended on the Internet and I've been appointed the role as moderator to distinguish where the line should be between right and wrong. From experience, racial hatred is extremely taboo in Leicester and so I know that if anyone crosses that line that I should intervene and cut it out so that both parties are happy.
surely you're not supposed to get offended on someone elses behalf . a mods action isnt based on their personal opinion is it ? don't you mean that there is a policy and you abide by that as a mod - whatever your viewpoint on it . reason i say is because if you dont take offence to something that breaks your forums rules you let it slide ?
We're only just under 2 hours in, with plenty yet to vote, but as Blatter seems to be running away with the title for the second time running, I think he will be banned from the upcoming competition, else I'm quite sure we could name our seasonal winner from the first round.
I have to put myself in the shoes of the Leicester posters. If there is something that would offend them, then I remove it. Simple as that.
Is there a way to change your vote? Didn't know who Gwilym Lloyd was so I googled him and came across his twitter account. His profile picture should be the image used to stereotype sex pests. Definite ****.
It's up to the moderators of the board I'm offending. But, my personal opinion is that if you're offended by strangers on the Internet then adult life isn't for you.
so you dont base your mod actions across any particular set of rules - just what you think fellow users wont like & your opinion on the world :/ if it works . . . i s'pose
