We won at the end of the day, lets not get too silly.

Start Can and Moreno and get a striker and things will look a lot better.

2 of those are easy to do and won should be an absolute priority.

Well we've signed a couple of defenders but our worst 2 defenders from last season are still in the team so no surprise it hasn't improved. Get Sakho in alongside Lovren and Moreno in for Johnson and it should be better. Good to see us win not playing well though. Good sign

I see no reason to replace Skrtel.

    Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno

I like. Flanagan also a good RB option.

In work, so I'll post my ratings later, but Marquello (sp) looks good, Lucas and Johnson dire, impressed with Lovren, Henderson should play more central where he's most effective. Oh, and prizes for all who stated the ****ing obvious, like my sister "We miss Suarez, don't we?". ****ing hell, d'you think????!!!

Know more after the City game. Kudos to Soton. Better team for the last hour, Ward-Prouse the best player on the pitch (we paid £25m for Lallana? Wrong player if we could have got this kid for half that price).

Strange, it's advertised as highlights from the match?

10pm on Sky sports 1, highlights from our game and City's.

  13. I've not got Sky Sports. Will check the LFC channel in a second but it advertised similarly last season too but it was a previous game

His defending is dodgy and he makes too many mistakes. Manquillo looks a decent defender although he looked like he didn't have a clue what to do with the ball when he was given it. Hopefully Flannagan will get the chance to make the position his when he is fit

I think Skrtel is at his best when he has someone like carragher next to him, so I'm happy to wait and see how his partnership with Lovren develops

I thought Manquillo did as well as can be expected. Its clear he can do a job when called upon but it would be naive to expect consistant performances week in week out.

My hope is that Moreno will add balance to defence, particularly when flanno is back playing on the right

Would have settled for starting like we did last week, and apart from not playing Lucas and Gerrard next to each other the only one player who is **** is Johnson, so stop exaggerating <whistle>

Let me run some facts past you fella....

    - Martin Skrtel had 20 clearances. He led Liverpool and the league last season with 11.5 per 90 minutes and is well on his way to doing so again this season. Lovren was second with 11 and Manquillo was third with 5.

    - Skrtel also led the side in touches with 111, Manquillo was second with 109, and Lovren third with 86.

    - Skrtel won the most aerial duels as well with 7 while Lovren was second with 6.

So what part of Skrtel being our best player today makes you want to drop him?

Skrtel was fine today. Still backed off a couple of times but luckily didn't cost us this time. Him and Lovren looked pretty solid though so wouldn't want to be changing anything there.

Agreed. I think we would have folded last season (defo the season before) under that onslaught from Soton. And it was an onslaught too, as I think we had hardly any central midfielders at times.
