actually just had a look on ITTV, one of reams' bf's is consoling him, telling him to ignore the nasty comments on here lol. it's priceless. there'll be some doors that get damaged cos of this, it will be like what happens when he finds out via bbc score cast that a cross went too long - there's hell to pay.

It's cute. He runs his site like the unpopular kid at school with a ball, and when it doesn't go his way he (threatens) to take it away from everyone.

And he has the gaul to mention someone else not staying true to their word! You couldn't make this up.

But lets be done with him now. The last thing we need is to make this site look like ITTV, where you can find a post on the first page from a new member bringing up the fact they chat **** <laugh>

Has anyone else got a favourite Paul May /Reams thread on ITTV ?

My personal favourite is Paul's "Spare Ticket Wanted" thread, which appears when he fancies going to a Charlton game twice a year.

Paul posts that he needs a spare ticket.

A nervous 11 yr old girl fan then has the gall to ask him why he doesn't buy one, like the rest of us. Paul May/Reams replies that he never buys a ticket for Charlton, before burying said poster under a tirade of invective....before banning her.

Reams then starts 10 threads saying how **** everything at Charlton is, oblivious to the fact that they are short of cash because "fans" like him pay nothing towards the Club.

This just cracked me up... :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    This ****tard aint Ackworth...!!

Ackworth used to drive me nuts but he was never abusive. Surely it's about time the mods on here grew a pair and banned this moron once and for all.

He is in no way shape or form looking to make a contribution to discussions on here. All he he's looking to do is verbally goad decent posters into losing their rag with him.

Get him gone because he's seriously comprising my enjoyment of this forum...!!

The bookies are not over-impressed with our win over Wigan. We are still 4th to 6th favourites for relegation (depending which bookie). Huddersfield have replaced Millwall in the naughty corner.

Getting back to the original question, and now we can see what Bob (or his puppet-master) thinks is our best team, I still think we are worse off than last season:

    Hamer/Stephenson: worse off

Solly/Solly: worse off for fitness reasons

Morrison/Ben Haim: worse off because Morrison was younger and improving.

Dervite/Bikey: worse off because Dervite was younger and improving.

Wiggins/Wiggins: worse off. Wiggins not the player he was before his bad injury (fitness problems?)

Wilson/Gudmundsson: worse off (the Iceman is skilful in patches but Wilson was, and still is, always in the thick of the game whether attacking or defending)

Cousins/Buyens: worse off. Equal ability but Buyens is a loanee. Cousins' value is increasing but if Buyens has a good season Charlton won't profit, just the network.

Stephens (then Poyet)/Jackson: much worse off. Jackson is now a passenger.

Harriott/Cousins: better off Wrong position for Cousins but still more consistent than Harriott

    Sordell/Vetokele: better off

Kermorgant/Tucudean: worse off. This is the killer. Most of the other comparisons are marginal, but we could have three Tucudeans on the pitch and they wouldn't score or create as many as Kermorgant. Plus he was a big asset when defending corners and free-kicks.

I think Tucudean has potential but he is nowhere near ready for Championship football. Needs a year to toughen up and learn to think quicker. He is a playboy millionaire. Maybe he does not have the incentive to push himself?

    Obviously things would change if:
    1) Bob picks the best team with Wilson at RM and Cousins at CM
    2) We sign a decent striker to play alongside Vetokele.
    3) Teamwork improves with more games together. We have had a lot of changes.
    4) Moussa gets 100% fit and solves our long-standing LM problem

If the above things happen we could improve on last year's 18th place finish. If they don't, or if RD flogs off our best assets, we will be in a relegation fight again. I am only judging the present situation.

I know he is looking for a reaction, but if he were to be banned we would be just as bad as him banning people on ITTV. Let him on and let him rant and see what happens, never know, he may get the hint he's not wanting on his own.

I don't think we should go that route. We cannot criticise him for banning people then do the same. He will get tired of posting here eventually. Does this board have an "ignore" function? Even if not, no-one has to read his posts.

Eddie, I think the one about Bikey is a bit off, Dervite was improving but wasn't consistent enough, with what I've seen of Bikey he is a monster and a steal.

The Kermit/Tucudean one is defo a killer, he doesn't seem up to scratch.

I'd like to see Cousins and Buyens in the middle with Gudmundson on the left and Wilson on the right, do that and we will be very strong indeed in my opinion. Chuck Igor up top and hope we get a better striker and I think we can push on... avoiding injuries of course.

The thing with Wilson might be down to Bob knowing that Solly can't play 2 games a week and not too sure if he wants to risk Gomez in the league yet? Is that why Wilson didn't start as he knows he needs him RB for Tuesday?

I disagree with some bits of that, eddie, albeit based on very little/no experience of seeing the new players:

From what people have been saying, Ben Haim was pretty good yesterday, particularly in his reading of the game. Morrison will still play a part, as I doubt that Ben Haim and Bikey can both play every game this season (if Bikey in particular doesn't get sent off at some point I'll be astonished), so we now have more options at centre back. In any case, I think the better question is to ask if our central defence is as a whole better with Morrison, Wood and Dervite, or with Morrison, Ben Haim and Bikey. From the early evidence, it seems it is better now.

Wilson very rarely played at RM last season anyway. I agree that he should as much as possible, but having Gudmundsson as another option is far better than having Danny Green as the backup, and much better than Cousins playing there.

Yep. It's what he wants. The ignore function is still in effect, should anyone need to use it then don't hesitate to ask.

But it will also stop if we draw the line here. He came on and had his ''rant'' - now let's get back to keeping things on topic and he can do the same on ''his'' site.

We agree on all but this. I agree Bikey has been impressive so far, not just in his own play but exhibiting leadership qualities. But he is three years oider and will be a free transfer out. Dervite was improving and increasing his value. Although already 26 he had not played a lot of first-team football so was a late developer. At the end of last season he was excellent. Also we have not see Bikey tested against pacy forwards yet. Dervite was quick for a CB.

Finally, Bikey is a bit like Suarez, an unexploded bomb that might go off any time. He could bring the club into disrepute or disrupt the dressing-room at any time, but especially if we go through a bad patch. You have to ask why no-one else wanted him but did want Dervite.

Still, I will concede you this one. All the time he is a Charlton player and behaves himself he has my support. As you say, he has certainly been an asset so far.

My concerns with Dervite were his mentality. Both years he became a better player with 8 games left and his contract running out.

I hope so, Capt. Time will tell. But I think our defence did OK last season. They had to do far more work than any defence should have to do because of the total inability of our forwards to keep the ball up front. We gave away a lot of late goals because our defenders were mentally exhausted with the ball keep coming straight back.

I have been watching the top Premiership side matches this weekend on TV. Amazing how little their defenders have to do each game apart from routine "tidying up". Maybe an average of five or six meaningful tackles or interceptions per defender a game. Our lads last season were having to "last-ditch" tackle or block every other minute.

Just an illusion, SuperChrissy. And rich coming from you, who was the only one not to query Stephens' "mentality". if any player spent his career at Charlton with one eye always on a move it was him.

Also, when comparing a player with Bikey, claiming the latter has a superior "mentality" is not safe ground. More "mental", I give you that.

Illusion? Go back and watch the matches Eddie, read the match reports. He was poor, both seasons from Aug-April.

Stephens - Good in League One, hit and miss in his second season (injuries perhaps affecting form, and CP insisting on playing him deeper), then a brilliant half season in year 3, due to CP admitting playing Cousins allowed him to play further forward and be more effective. He was then sold with our other best performer, with no indication he had rejected contract talks..

Glad a few of you have mentioned the Kermorgant loss; I think I put that in my original 'embarrassing' post so I feel redeemed!

The most impressive part of our new side to date has been the CB pairing of Bikey and Ben Haim - both are monsters who will thrive in the Championship if they stay fit. Gomez really looked the part at FB against Colchester, and Solly was his usual excellent self against Brentford & Wigan (it will be interesting to see if his knees are up to playing v Derby tomorrow night).

Henderson and Wiggins both look as though they have spent too much time in Nandos over the summer. As we have seen before with Rhys, when his fitness is suspect his form dips alarmingly.

The midfield looks a lot more energetic & creative than last seasons, although Jackson gave a real dud of a performance on Saturday.
