Before today I believe there penalty record for us was both 100%. The difference was that Austin had scored his!

You're miserable enough without needing to support QPR to further enhance that characteristic! Now go away.

Always nice to know other football fans can show a bit of class after a victory.

All I will say is its one game, one tight game which you won, so well done on that. However, Bolton smashed us 4-0 at home in 2011/12 on the first day and ended up relegated while we survived. The game of football is wonderful in that it can bite you in the arse just when you think things are going well.

How dare QPR think they can finish above 3 teams. How dare they.

Look at us; simply oozing arrogance and complacency.

Great response Grif. As ever posters from other boards are selective in what they really want to see.

We can only hope that that's the case. There are no bad sides in the Prem. You have to earn the right to remain in it over the course of the 38 matches. Those that deserve to stay up usually do as do, the sides that go down. Only time will tell, but the signs looked better today than in our previous two seasons.

Out of the sides that kiwi listed above, I think you can remove Swansea, Hull and Stoke from the equation. They'll do alright.

    Rude, crude and abusive.

I guess you fit in perfectly with your fellow fans.

Personal experience? If so please expand on your reasons, or is it taken from the media? Its' grim 'up North' is a well worn cliché.

We're barred from entering, already World Capital of Culture. But of course, whenever I think "I'd like to spend the day in a world class museum or gallery, catch some international quality sport, then have a wide choice of theatre, shows, comedy or concerts in the evening, topped off with dinner in one of many Michelin starred restaurants", Hull immediately leaps to mind.

    Then jumps right out again.

It's good to be proud of your home town and I am sure Hull has many things to be proud of. Exceptionally cheap housing for example. And topping the national league table for % of the population receiving Job Seekers' Allowance should be shouted from the rooftops.

I've been to Hull a lot over the past few years. Its not that bad but its not that good either.

    Scunthorpe is worse.

On the whole Stan I think Doha has a slight edge over Hull. I can't find anywhere here that does chips & gravy but kebab shops of the shwarma variety abound. A surprising amount of booze available too.

I went to see the Qatar equivalent of the Charity Shield last week which was brilliant fun and it would appear a certain Mr Laudrap lives on the 52nd floor of my apartment block according to Maria on reception - just to compound the stereotype, she actually is from Barcelona
