I thought that Long miss was awful in real-time. But when I see the replay, it's harder than it looked. The ball was coming back off the post and took a high, odd bounce. It didn't have that much pace but Long was so close he didn't have that much time to read it. He was then screened by Johnson-- in fact the ball just barely popped over Johnson's head. I think if he'd headed it straight on goal it would have hit Johnson. Yes, he could have had it. But it's not quite the sitter it appears to be at first glance.

I agree mate, it doesn't matter who he supports, racism is racism but somebody on here already assumed he was a Liverpool fan - why I don't know, just trying to keep our names clear of this especially after a decent game and seemingly good relationship between our two sets of fans Good luck for the season, Koeman looks a good coach, he will do you proud.

Yeah, how I saw it. Wasn't the clear cut chance it appeared to be at first, with Johnson screening him, Long couldn't jump himself, and his vision to the ball blocked.
@RonaldKoeman: Enjoyed my team. Unfortunately we didn't reward ourselves with a goal in 2nd half #saintsfc @SouthamptonFC #LIVSOU please log in to view this image
Thank you Liverpool for giving me even more reasons to hate you. Spawny gits. Unlucky Saints, great second half performance, but just before Liverpool scored, thought we "switched off" for a bit and sods law, it led to their goal which was as ugly as any goal you'll see this season. Pelle needs to be a bit stronger holding the ball up. Tadic looked good. JWP really came into it second half after looking a bit lost. Big Vic was excellent (apart from that clearing header). Defence was pretty good, Bertrand ran a marathon up and down. Foster is calm & reassuring.
As good as the performance was, it counts for nothing if we don't follow it up with 3 points next weekend.
Well that was no where near as bad as i feared it was going to be, Victor was huge, Our midfield bossed their area and i think once everyone gets used to where Pelle wants the ball he'll be decent. But Yoshi oh dear! he tries but damn it he scares the crap out of me. Proud of that performance, bring on the baggies!
If Tadic can improve his decision making and final ball he could be one hell of a player. Already seems as though he has a good partnership with Bertrand.

Unlucky today lads. Deserved at least a point if not more. If you can play like that after losing 4 top players then should do well again this year. Good luck for rest of the season
@GPelle19: Too bad we couldn't take points in my 1st @premierleague match yet! Good team work created chances in 2nd half though #Saintsfc #livsou
