Is it me or has TFLS surpassed itself in the inanity of the highlights, commentary and punditry tonight?
Haven't seen highlights or lowlights to that matter. But in reality, if an attacker goes down with a bleeding nose, and that is only what I have read, well we'd want a red for their defender if it happened to us. See what the better angles say...but might well be just and a just win for Norwich.
Couldn't really tell regarding the red card - player went down (with a genuine injury) and crowd were shouting which maybe influenced the ref? As I say he isn't afraid to show the cards! Their goals were good but we could have closed down a bit more.
Very much so. Norwich are such a big club they have the league licked. Cue pictures two women licking an icecream at the ground. The decision as black and white as our shirts?? No interview with anyone from Watford. Put it together and what have you got, thats right, BBC football coverage.
The bleeding nose is circumstantial. I think the camera angle and focus is inconclusive. The BBC have made no attempt to try and get to the bottom of this one way or the other, probably because they can't (unless it's all on the cutting room floor). Looking forward to seeing it on YouTube. That nobody seems to have a conclusive view says more about it than not. That he was caught on the nose isn't really the issue. Was it deliberate most certainly is. The assistant gave it, given that the incident was a good way behind the play I'm not convinced he's in the best place to make a credible decision. This is where the argument for him to "assist, not insist" comes in. I think an appeal will have little chance of success unless the City player calls it an accident.
At least we didn't concede in the last 5 minutes A good leveller for us, this game showed that we're not as good as we think we are but having said that I think we'll thump Rotherham on Tuesday
Yep agree with you BHD about Gomes but some of the other members of the team looked a little short on motivational attitude (and fitness). The score could actually have been a lot worse had it not been for woeful finishing by Norwich. Having said that it's early days yet but the Rotherham game will be mightily interesting in seeing how Sannino motivates the players because I suspect that where his weakness is
I have watched what the BBC laughingly call the "highlights" and have to agree there was nothing conclusive in what they showed of the incident, our manager said he did not have a good view and Redmond only remembers feeling a bump, he didn't see or know what hit him! I think the red card under those circumstances was very harsh!
It was like going to the cinema to watch a film and the hero gets killed at the beginning. (Or from Dave's POV, the villain.) The rest of the film was about the funeral. Not even a Rorke's Drift feel once they scored. England take the last India wicket as I type. Even not much satisfaction in that- they rolled over. Again.
The way their forward has been floored something nasty had to have happened. Gomes hasn't covered himself in glory though, even though second goal was a deflection, Norwich had 30 shots, so what do you expect. Ekstrand deserves a ban. Poetic justice with no poem. We'll slap the bacon out your mouth and dance upon your sarnie, fingers crossed.
