No reason why not mate. It's a great first home match ....... sold out away support, big club & on the back of a good away point. Would be poor if it was the likes of Villa or Stoke but I'm looking forward to this.
Just Ibiza for 3 days then over to Marbella for 2, nowt flash, just a quick break and a couple of gigs, haven't got a proper jolly until October. Yeah, me too, will be absolutely bouncing I reckon. Rather it was Saturday like...
What the Hell is van Gaal up to with his comments? New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said his players' confidence would be "smashed" after the worst possible start to his reign at Old Trafford. United, who won six friendlies under Van Gaal in pre-season, began their PL campaign with a shock 2-1 home defeat by Swansea. Van Gaal said: "When you have preparation, win everything, then lose your first match, it cannot be worse. "We have built up a lot of confidence. It will be smashed because of this." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28820607
Bank holiday monday mate Dear Sunderland Fans, If you said we were going to get a point away from home in the first game of the season, you would probably say it’s a good way to start. We started the game very well and we got an incredible goal – the best probably from [Lee] Cattermole in his whole career. Then we had a difficult spell because we lost the possession and the decision from the referee to give a penalty changed the course of the game. If we went into half time at 1-0 it would have been a totally different story, but I thought we were much better in the second half. We were better on the ball and much more aggressive. I was disappointed with the defending for their second goal but then we were in their half and we were really pushing to get back. I think we need to make sure that the players get used to each other as well, some have only been training for a week or 10 days and I’m sure we are going to get better. This week is going to be perfect for us, to go and play against Manchester United at the Stadium of Light with a great atmosphere and to make sure that we can show we are going to be a different team this year. Thanks for your support, Gus Poyet
We could've been away at Bournemouth yesterday and home to Brentford this weekend. Anyone upset that we only drew, with 2 of the best goals scored yesterday and a home game against Man Utd, should think again imo. Poyet should be given as long as he needs, whether everything goes our way or not. We've tried hiring & firing, it's got us nowhere ......... we need to build some foundations instead of starting with the upper stories every time.
I have just saw the penalty that was given to WBA for the first time, and all I can say is that anyone who thinks that was the correct decision needs to give there heads a shake...It was a shocking decision!!!
Without reading the whole 13 pages, how did your new lads get on vs WBA? Seen that Buckley fella got 20 mins or so at the end, how did he look in his first game? Did Rodwell look competitive? What about Gomez? I'd have loved to come on and say they're gonna get taught a lesson this weekend, but we'll probably do you lot no harm, I'm not expecting things to pick up in 7 days.
Not too bad, apart from Rodwell who looked well of the pace and in dire need of a few games to get him up to speed..
Just be a bit rusty I'd expect, good thing for us considering our CM was non-existent more or less on Saturday. Cattermole should boss the central midfield this weekend really.
