Just a point on poleon. I'm not a fan as he's a head down player... but it was a great touch to tonge for the shot that ked to the goal
Smith hasn't agreed to the deal MC offered him. Think he might be going this week, but not to millwall. Blackpool want him.
Hmmmm, I'd do what we can to try and keep him. I'd ship off Poleon, Hunt, White and Norris, and would offer Smith a bit more
I thought it seemed strange Smith not getting any game time looks like hes heading out not to Blackpool though they already have a tower!
Nice thread Mike, love the passion and emotion ... my quick 2p ... Poleon did very well to set up Tonge strike ... Cooper was Prem class, the error for the disallowed goal was down to the defenders in front of him allowing the ball to bounce, he was dead on his heels the moment that happened and simply had no chance of getting off the ground ... Ajose did a superb imprsssion of Aidy Whit at times but should be given time to settle, biggest day in his career so far yesterday ... Warnock was best I've ever seen him in a Leeds shirt, clearly feeling the pressure of competition for places ... diamond formation is wasting Bianchi and Ajose in truth, and still allows opposition easy possession and space to drive at us, although Karanka missed a beat only playing one up front with wingers, crosses were wasted
Interesting comments by John Still last night on the Football League Show. He pointed out how it would have been the easy option to put Smith on (like I think we all would have done) and start lumping balls up to him to try and get the breakthrough. But Hock stuck to his guns, put Poleon and Cook on and kept the ball on the deck which ultimately led to Sharp's goal. Would we have been better off with Smith on towards the end ? Who knows but I think it was vitally important that Billy got off to a flyer with a goal and that might not have happened with Smith on the pitch. So, Hockaday - clueless or tactical genius ? Jury's still out for me but yesterday's game certainly bought him a bit more time.
