End of my self imposed month long betting ban today. I'm going to Ponte races so any tips would be greatly appreciated
A quick look through the cards and looks like it could be a day for favourites but then again Ponte is a bugger of a track where there's bound to be some silly priced horses winning!
2.00 Southwell. MOSS GROVE. 2-1. Been waiting ages for this one to re-appear after its beat the heavily backed Rogue Dancer at Newton Abbot back in June. Rogue Dancer was a huge plunge from 33-1 to 11-4f that day and was a distant second to Moss Grove. Rogue Dancer won by 12 lengths next time out so if that doesn't advertise the form, I don't know what does. Noel Fehily takes over and I'm expected it to follow up its win last time out. Big win bet for me.
Rogue Dancer was running from a stone out of the handicap when Moss Grove beat him (I should know) and Moss Grove is up 12lbs from that victory! Nothing else from that race has even run a place since so I wouldn't be too carried away by the form. KILFINCHEN BAY is interesting on his first run for Charlie boy tomorrow. He reckons the horse works a heck of a lot better than his handicap mark would have you believe and he has upped it markedly in trip!
Buck Mulligan 3.00 Southwell is one of those horses which I have an affection for no logical reason. It certainly isn't financial and he sometimes seems to find little at the business end of a race. However I reckon he's currently rated about 6lb below his level of ability, has good ground and 20 furlongs. He must win today at 100/30.
Hope you have a good day smokey takea look at ASTROIDEA in the 245 13/2 currently available and I cant see it getting any better than that , Gibbons has had 2 good strong runs on Astro at this distance and in good times . Astro went well here at ponte at 2f less so the track should not be a problem . The weight looks spot on . With all that and the odds I am quite confident of a Gibbs Astro Double.
Was hoping "old boy" SBC would be on to advise us whether to steam into Athenian in the Flying Fillies race at Ponte. Barney, you out there old chap? I'm thinking a line can be put through her recent poor showing over 7f.
Bang bang. Well done for getting on Hawkeye. And on that note I have no time to think about horses when United are so appalling so I'll sign off there.
