[ A fly landed on my computer screen just after Charlie's miss. I got the newspaper and gave it a right good hiding. I wasn't too happy.
The fly or the computer???????
Are you ****ting us That looked as solid a QPR team as I have seen for a while It's early days but if you can't see foundation you need to open your eyes 1-1 would of been fair I think we will pick up a few more points away than people think 111 points to go for
Huge amount of positives from that. On my train on the way back. Caulker and Rio look class. Onohua in for Dunne please. Midfield looked great with Ale and Mitch. Remy and Charlie will be potent in time. On another day we would have won. Certainly better than previous opening PL days! Squad looks less arrogant and will work hard. This game left me more optimistic about survival, not less.
As an aside, full credit to Hull. They didn't stay up by luck last year. Hard work, good management and a system which players learnt well and was very adapatable and solid. We would do well to emulate them and learn from them. Certainly no easy game in the PL. A clichy which is true. Let's give them the respect they deserve, learn from them, and strive to finish ahead of them as I feel that would ensure we stay up!
As another aside, everything Dunne touched turned to **** in the second half. His passing is sooo slow...and he dithers when when the ball arrives to him. Bring Onouha back in ASAP
As much respect as I have for Dunne, Ned MUST start ahead of him. He would learn so much from Rio and Caulker, and Dunne is good backup.
Gutted that we lost but that still that was one of the best performances I have seen for quite some time. We were unlucky but this looked like a team that can stay in the PL.
Win some, lose some. As we were all told in May the best team lost and today we know how that feels although not to the same degree as DCFC, but saw a lot of positives and without Mr reliable missing a peanut for once we were good for a point. I am not unduly worried and still feel we will survive and survive in a decent position so all the doom mongers already calling for 'Arry's head etc should take a chill-pill,drink some vino collapso ( DT can recommend a few decent ones i imagine ) and forget it & move on to the next game, theres a long way to go with many a twist and turn still to come and remember we lost the last two premier season openers badly, so RELAX AND ENJOY THE WEEK-END.
Yup. Playing Dunne + Rio is an incredibly short-termist approach to the defence. Neither are likely to be here for much more than a year; our future needs to be built on the shoulders of Onouha & Caulker. I did think Rio was really good though- barring being beaten for their one crucial goal.
The fly or the computer???????
Fortunately, it was the fly that got an overdose of my pent up aggression. I whacked it at least a dozen times after it was hovis.
Thank all the God's for a foundation then. I haven't seen the game but various comment about Rio for the goal and Dunne left me unaware that Arry had come that far. I'll return to my Tequila extra spicy with a happier head than 0-1 said.
For the Hull goal, apart from Rio losing his man, someone should have been defending that far post from the corner - ditto for Arsenal after Hangeland just headed in a goal for Palace.
Now that I have calmed down a bit, I have reflected that we looked solid and did a lot of good things going forward. We also have a lot of options; the subs that came on are all good quality. When Loic and Charlie start gelling (this was the first time they have played together) we will score goals. The most annoying thing is that the PL have changed the tv-rights (again) and can now only show one game at 3pm on Saturdays. Before it was only one game on the tv, but all games were shown on the internet. Now I am still watching crappy streams. (Is it the same in Norway?)
Not able to go today so grateful for perspectives. My take, from a distance, is that as a win would not have secured our PL survival, nor does a loss auger relegation. It is going to be a long old season though!
Swans could be in big trouble as they only just got past United The lions don't roar much nowadays... area has gone really soft
Just pray that the sweaties don't vote for independence. If they do you lot will be next, then all you sheepshaggers will have to go back to playing in the hills and valleys. Fancy heading off to Llansawel for some top flight Welsh action?
For the life of me I can't understand that. Dunne was the pick of the three IMO. Did you see Ferdinand's defending for their goal? Dreadful. Yet Dunne gets slated
