    Norwich City 3 - 0 Watford
    HT 1 - 0
    Attendance: 26,375

    Saturday 16th August 2014

    Venue: Carrow Road

    Kick-Off: 3:00PM

Watford visit Carrow Road this afternoon as City kick-off their home campaign. The Canaries will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing opening fixture at The Molineux against Wolverhampton Wanderers where they lost 1-0. City fans were probably not expecting to come away with much as their record away to the Wolves is abysmal. The manner of the defeat was what stuck in the craw with City mustering just one effort on target in the 90 minutes.

Norwich and Watford have met 93 times in competitive fixtures with The Canaries having the upper hand with 38 victories to The Hornet's 26, there have been 29 drawn games. At Carrow Road, City have beaten Watford 26 times losing 10 and drawing 10.
City's biggest win was at Carrow Road where they ran out 6-1 winners on 7th April 1984 in the old First Division, their heaviest defeat being a 4-1 reverse in the second tier on 10th March 2001.

The most memorable match between the two sides, certainly for City fans, was not a victory but a 1-1 stalemate in the final game of the 1971-72 season at Vicarage Road. The result secured the old Second Division title for The Canaries, promotion already being achieved a week earlier against Orient at Brisbane Road. Watford endured a dreadful season that year finishing bottom of the pile and were already relegated before the match kicked off.

That was my first away game as a ten year old. Doug Livermore is the guy on the left with his arm raised, next to him is Dave Stringer, behind him is Terry Anderson (RIP), behind him is Graham Paddon (RIP), the guy with the bottle is Big Dunc. Can't quite make out who it is to his right but I think it's Mick McGuire ? Clive Payne is behind Duncan and the suited fella to Doug Livermore's right who wasn't selected that day is Trevor Howard.

I like the 4-2-3-1, which suits Grabban, Wes, Redmond and Lafferty very well. Fingers crossed. (Great graphics for the line-up KIO).

You should maybe get the Norwich Player commentary thing Thai, £4:49 per month and commentaries on all the Norwich matches, ideal for ex-pats like yourself when there's a shortage of streams.

Like the formation personally I'd have Whits at left back Martin at RB and play Ryben.
