Tough ask today. Boro will be up there this season and have hit the ground running. Bit early for us, with new faces. Hopefully the home crowd will lift us, but a draw is the best I can see for us today.
This is gonna be a test i think, our new boys have not had time to Gel, i would settle for our first point. Fingers crossed for the win tho eh
Here we go, the teamnsheets are out Leeds United Silvestri, Byram, Pearce, Cooper, Warnock, Murphy, Bianchi, Austin, Ajose, Sharp, Doukara Subs S Taylor, C Taylor, Wootton, Tonge, Cook, Poleon, Smith Middlesbrough Mejias, Leadbitter, Omeruo, Tomlin, Abella, Reach, Ayala, Kike, Adomah, Friend, Whitehead Subs Konstantopoulos, Husband, Williams, Clayton, Nsue, Fewster, Woodgate
Line up pretty much as expected. Don't know why we persist in Austin, but a well balanced side. Morison still not back from injury.
Few signs of not having played much together but no indication that the new boys aren't up to it, and good pressing high up the pitch. Austin's broken up our moves more than theirs though!
Should be 1 down, let the ball bounce in the box again. Set pieces FFS. Big side at the back aren't they? Smith for Doukara?
Certainly Austin is. We cannot string together more then 4 or 5 passes. We shouldn't be playing on the break at home. Boro have two dangerous wingers with good control, Warnock looks solid enough, but lack of pace does worry me
Austin always worries me, but after a shaky 20 minutes I think he's done well. Never got this warnock bashing, he's up against a top winger, doing fine for me. Byram's been skinned and given the ball away. Midfield still the problem for me, but looked better in the last 20. Been impressed with sharp's industry.
Still hanging in there, and I think a few teams will struggle against Boro this season. Have to say we seem to be more up for it, huge gaps between Ajose at the front of the diamond and the back at times, Austin lying very deep and they are given a lot of space to play into. Smith for Doukara second half, though the boy's done ok.
