Media pundits = total boredom!! Wouldn't it be wonderful for any three from the" top five" to get relegated. Chelsea, (yes please), - media seem to think the sun shines out of their backsides!! Manchester United (yes please!!) Media fawning over them and their new saviour! Let's hope they crash!! And Manchester City of course - over-rated team that will again do nothing in the Champions League.

At this stage I cannot see us winning the Premiership so I hope Everton turn everything ti** up and win it!!

Yes, but don't you understand The Premier League invented football. Beforehand there were no such things as long throws, well-worked corner pieces or pass and move football. What we had then was something where every club could beat anyone on their day and most teams had some good players and were competitive. Money has made the stadiums etc. better but reduced us to a few good teams and cannon fodder. Joy.

The reason why is because none of us have any idea how we will do this year. We have lost a lot of good players, we may have brought in some very good ones too, our manager has changed and our starting XI could feature 7 or 8 different players. Cohesion will take time and the manager is unproven in this division. I agree with you, there are weaker squads, however our fixture list and the time our side take to gel are key factors in our season.

I agree, especially about the fixture list. When it was announced I was happy as we were playing a lot of teams where we could get points early on, so potentially may have had a start similar to last year. Now we are playing teams we could get points from when the team cohesion will be at it's lowest and we may look disjointed and poor. Then when we may have found our feet a bit more we have a run of good teams where we probably will get very few points.

Where we finish this season is mainly down to how we do in the second half of the season I think.

Writes essays on every Saints article there. He's a regular. His match reports are something to behold.

Is that the guy that wrote 8000 words on an article at the end of last season. Spread across about 12 comments.

JWP says when he heard Koeman was coming he started researching him. Koeman has warmed to the players and vice-versa.

New boys already settling and can't wait for the season and to do the talking for Saints, on the pitch.

Yeah, to be fair there were some quite good goals on there - I may or may not have had a few jars… I stand by my point though, the football is much better now

That is probably the most accurate summary of both Saints and of English football I have read anywhere! Well said Des!

Rose tinted specs there my man. Remember when we finished 7th in 1990? What happened after that?

Le Tiss defending Saints pretty strongly after criticism from Merse and the others.

    Summary of Le Tissier's comments:

    - I don't think Les Reed is a liar
    - He genuinely believed there would not be a mass exodus
    - The signings are of a good standard
    - It appears we will have more depth
    - Koeman is a good appointment
    - Saints need to keep Morgan
    - Morgan has to accept he must now stay
    - Cortese shouldn't have said some of the things he did to players
    - Morgan has to realise anything Nicola said is now worth nothing
    - Some of their attitudes have been absolutely stinking
    - They've disrespected the club
    - You don't sign a contract based on who else is going to be there
    - You look after yourself
    - You can't say... X, Y and Z have gone - I'm gonna throw my toys out the pram
    - We don't have to sell, no one can make us
    - The manager's job is to now talk to him
    - You can go when someone accepts a bid
    - No one has made an acceptable offer
    - You can't just demand to go at any price
    - They've reinvested a considerable sum
    - £12m for Long was too much
    - But Lovren and Lallana may well be over-priced too
    - It's the cycle, we've been overpaid and now we are overpaying

Quite proud of Tiss for defending the club like he did, none of the others really know what's going on like he does. Also, I'd give my testes for 11th place.

Probably, he's posted about 15,000 words in the Saints preview article. That's a novella length.

Paul Merson has just said Leicester are going to be relegated because their stadium is too nice.
