Origiiiiiiiiiiiii or Orrrggyyyyyy http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/caen-0-lille-1-origi-strike-gives-girards-men-victory
Talk about paper sensationalisation http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfers-falcao-cavani-still-4056946 Not one quote mentioning anything to do with the players - the only quote that is slightly relevent is the 'Top end striker'
yes but never put off something you can so now and risk egg on face. we've 2 weeks to make a move.... we've the money... what we need is the right player so fingers crossed.
Thing is, that 2 weeks becomes one week, becomes one day, becomes one hour. Then the right player becomes any available player. I would prefer we do any business before the season starts so the management and team can focus on the games at hand rather than the transfer market. That period has now expired and any business we do now could become a distraction. I don't think it will be the end of the world if we do not bring in anybody else. Remember in January, all of us thought we needed to bring some talent in and we got no one - what happened next? We went on a brilliant run, which we might not of if we had different faces come in.
And we came 2nd, winning nothing. I would say that was poor business. Anyway, just wish we were in for Reus, at least test the water.
depends what your expectations were i suppose, we wouldn't have had any idea we could have won the title in jan or come so close to it, so to come 2nd when expectation was probably top 4 and not have spent any money could be seen as good business as well, as more money to spend this window.
It wasn't for the lack of a striker though, was it? Not as if we were short of goals. The players we did want (to strengthen the defence) weren't available for one reason or another and there's just sod all you can do about that, no matter how frustrating it is. We can't wave a magic wand and just make our every wish come true. Dangerous or not, I'll have far more respect for the club if they keep trying for the right deal and keep the money for when the suitable player comes along, rather than panic-buying the wrong man to appease impatient fans. As for being in for Reus, how can we be certain we're not? And anyway, no matter how many fans want him (and there are still some that don't) , it's up to BR to decide who he wants to work with, not us.
We were wafer thin and were incredibly lucky that there were no injuries to our attacking force during our amazing run
Still think the reason Borini is still with us is the fact we have yet to sign another striker. If we sign someone he will be off, if not he will stay. BR will not want to rely on Studge being fit all season and even if he could manage it just look at Giroud when Arsenal played him virtually every game he became less effective as the season went on.
Perhaps, but who's to say if we brought in some new faces, we would have to sacrifice time and forgive maybe some bad performances to allow them time to bed in. Then maybe we wouldn't have got 2nd, maybe not even 4th. It is all speculation. But this is one of the reasons why I think signing players after the season has started/ even in the middle of the season can be distracting and should be done away with.
BR's targeting a world-class striker according to the BBC, with Falcao and Cavani being the named possibilities. Whilst I rate them both quite highly, they are both expensive and quite injury prone, like Studge. The last thing we need is both our main strikers out of action. I know Origi will come in next season but still that doesn't help us this season. P.S. Premier League is back!
Think we missed a trick not going for Bojan, he is still only young and Stoke got him for £3m. Would have been worth a punt when you see how slow Lambert is and he was £4m
He's not the player we need. His various loan adventures at other decent clubs have proven that. - Some alternatives strikers who could be worth a gamble who I'v thought of: Llorente Gameiro Mario Gomez Pedro Jese Pizarro (scored 10 in 17 last season) André-Pierre Gignac Lisandro López Getting desperate right? - Eto'o or Balotelli?
Flappy never took the bet so if I do win he will look a bit silly. If I win I will post a pic of me collecting the cheque to rub it in. Suppose I will have to buy a bloody ticket now!
