New signing can't wait to get started on Wearside.

Will Buckley cannot wait to get started following a dream move to Sunderland.

Buckley, 24, joined the Black Cats from Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday, and he is keen to repay the faith shown in him by all at the Stadium of Light.

I am very direct, I like to get on the ball and take on defenders to stretch the game

    - Will Buckley
Speaking to safc.com, the winger stated his intentions to work hard and impress.
“It’s great,” declared Buckley following the completion of the deal. “I am really looking forward to playing in the Barclays Premier League.
“That is the main thing on my journey and to be reunited with the head coach is great, so hopefully I can come here and impress.”
He continued: “This is the pinnacle of where I wanted to play football from when I started, obviously I played in League Two and then jumped to the Championship and I think it took a couple of months to get used to that.
“I managed to make that step and the head coach thinks I can make the next step to the Barclays Premier League. It is where I want to be so it’s time to prove that now.”
The move also reunites Buckley with former mentor Gus Poyet, and the winger states that he will not disappoint the Uruguayan by producing a direct approach that helps drive the Black Cats forward.
“I am very direct, I like to get on the ball and take on defenders to stretch the game.
“I had a quick chat with the head coach and a lot of the things are similar to what brought him so much success at Brighton. There might be a few changes that I need to get used to but I’m ready for that.
“I want to establish my place in the team and repay the coaches and the management for the faith they have shown in me."

Borini plays on the left, isn't Buckley right sided?

I like the way he talks about stretching the game, that's something we have been lacking in. According to the Brighton fans he's a damned hard worker as well, which I wasn't aware of. Just need to keep him fit.

That Youtube footage shows him running, passing and scoring with both feet. We could actually see him on the left wing until we get Borini or until Giac is fit. We might also see him on the right and AJ on the left.........Interesting times ahead I reckon.

AJ can play both but likes to cut inside onto his left.

Buckley likes to cut inside onto his right from the left. Simples

AJ is painfully one footed. Having a wide man who can use both pegs is an absolute asset.

He put a canny cross in with his right for Fletcher to nod in the opener against the mags, I take your point though

Oh I agree, but when he uses hi right peg there's an element of luck involved like with all one footed people.
