There was but they took it from the app store. Not sure if they've put a new one out but if you can't find one they probably haven't.
Best spurs v west ham match.... Has to be that fantastic 4-3 win in march 2007. 2 nil down at half time to very good goals from Noble and Tevez then 2 all midway through the 2nd half...the second was a fantastic goal scored by Tanio after a superb assist by lennon. Then Zamora made it 3 -2 to them a minute or two after coming off the bench with just 3 or 4 mins to go. Berbatov equalised in the 90th minute with a free kick to match the Tevez goal in the first half. Then in the final minute of added time spurs had a break away led by Defoe which ended in Paul Staltari scoring the winner. http:// ►*4:23►*4:23www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vxUTsvLKUk
Best thing is that, at the time, we seemed to have put them down, only for a miraculous recovery to save them.
I know SOS is off to this game and the club have released this , just to remind fans like him to be on their best behaviour.
This game is messing with my house viewings! If i didn't have them those attending the game could help me drink a few of the carlsbergs i have stuck in my fridge
As kick off draws closer I'm starting to get confident. Mostly just excited for our season to get underway though. Summer is torture, even with a World Cup.
This is likely to be the spammers team ----------------------Adrian ----------------------- -- O'Brien --- Reid --- Tomkins -- Cresswell -------------- Kouyate --- Noble ----------------- --Downing---------- Nolan ----- Vaz Te/Jarvis ------------------------ Cole ------------------------ It won't be easy and Lamela better show some balls if he wants to be a star here as he won't be getting an easy ride like he has in pre season.
We'd really need shooting if we don't topple that on Saturday. Our second string side is better, just pray we don't Spurs-it up (again!). Just to re-affirm however, I am confident... And absolutely buzzing to get there. Feel like a kid at Christmas.
On paper its a horrible team and lacking in quality but all it takes is for Nolan to pop up with a goal (which he is good at) and they can sneak a 1 or 2 nil win. Thats the danger with us now playing a high tempo/high line game, we will lose to teams that on paper are crap, as they just need to sit deep, stay compact and hit us on the break.
Just to be on the safe side, I have Jaaskelainen and Nolan in my fantasy team for the weekend. That should be enough to jinx them...
I haven't really seen too much of a high line though under Poch in pre-season to be honest, the full backs have a lot of freedom but I think the CB's are a bit more reserved than they have been in recent seasons. Under AVB and Tim our CB's were at times not too far off the half way line when the team were going forward, I don't think they've looked that daring so far, which I prefer. Not everyone has to bomb forward in a pressing system and I think Poch sees that. Another reason why I think we have the right manager for us; wants to keep and improve the "Spurs way" of playing while also being somewhat assured at the back. Only time will tell of course if it works out well but I'm feeling pretty confident. **Apologies for now jinxing us.**
I'm going by his previous teams as he likes to press high up the pitch rather then sit back but I haven't paid much attention to pre season. I'm expecting us to try and press high up field, close down in numbers and players to be close in support so the passing is quick, fast and lots of options and if we win the ball high up field then it means we should create chances if the players adapt. However it could pan out differently and if we play a more balanced defensive line then I would prefer that as conceding cheap goals on the counter is what usually happens when teams press high and get frustrated.
From what I reckon of a Pochettino team, the forwards, advanced midfielders and fullbacks all press high leaving one midfielder to sit deep and screen the defence, almost forming a back 3 with the CBs. Thus you get a high press without the occasionally self-destructive high line we had under AVB and Sherwood at times. Its a high line, but not as high as last seasons. It remains to be seen if he does this with Spurs though. I guess it depends on the nature of the CBs you have at your disposal, and to a lesser extent how quick the opposition team is, both in terms of individual speed and the speed of their passing.
Southampton had a scoreless draw and a two goal loss against West Ham last year, so Poch didn't do much better than we did. What I don't know about football has filled volumes, but I would only press in our end against teams set up to counter us. The most valid criticism I heard of Poch is "no Plan B." Now would be a good time to develop one, with West Ham, QPR and Liverpool on tap, all of whom are likely to try to play on the counter. Or he could play the system he's been training everyone in, of course, which is what I expect.
Well, as things currently stand, the Spanners are bottom of the league. Let's hope after Saturday's game, they remain there. We owe the Spanners a really good kicking.
Does anyone actually know anything about the starting lineup? I remember reading that Pochettino would decide the team Friday. Has he made any announcement? Here's the Torygraph: Tottenham (Possible, 4-4-2): Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Davies; Capoue, Lamela, Eriksen, Townsend; Adebayor, Kane. 4-4-2! With Kane and not Soldado. Hmm. The Guardian Lloris Naughton Vertonghen Dawson Davies Capoue Paulinho Townsend Eriksen Lamela Soldado Someone else picked the second team as well, I think, or perhaps with one player changed. I can see Paulinho next week, if he's brought in as a sub tomorrow. But starting Ade on the bench would be a big mistake, I think. He's got the best chance of being a big scorer for us this year, and is generally believed to be touchy. Surely you start him the first x games, and if he doesn't work out, bring in Soldado or maybe Kane. Of course, with him not back to full fitness, play him the first half, Soldado the second, which is diplomatic and sensible as well. Anyway, I would be very surprised at either one. I think Pochettino will play the players he thinks are fit and ready to play, and who look comfortable in his system. So: Lloris Naughton Kaboul Dier/Dawson Davies (though Rose wouldn't be a shock) Holtby Bentaleb/Capoue Lennon/Townsend Eriksen Lamela Adebayor (with Soldado coming on in the second half)
