    I know it's early but...

what would be the ideal result?

    Would you play Henderson?

I think a comfortable 2-0 win would be nice, I don't want to stuff them as stuffing a team on the first game of the season could lead to overconfidence

with regards to Henderson I'd probably start him on the bench and bring him on around the hour mark

    thoughts?

Wouldn't start with Henderson but if he was really up for it give him some time on the pitch.

Really hope we get a win but not going to predict anything.

    Team...

    Reina
    Carra Hansen Lawrenson Riise
    McManaman Alonso Gerrard Barnes
    Dalglish Rush

I didn't mean to offend, I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to stuff the team we play on the first game of the season, wether that be Sunderland, Swansea, Arsenal or Aston Villa

First game, need to be fired up as tey will definately. I'd leave hte kid outa this one, its set up for him not to perform.. Late sub maybe..

I just hope we hit the ground running, I hate those sluggish draw draw 0 0 draw league starts

We need to field a strong team but have balance between the quality on the bench and on the pitch.

    GK: Reina
    RB: Kelly
    CB: Carragher
    CB (If available)
    LB: NEW signing (Clichy/Enrique/Cissokho)
    RM: Henderson
    CM: Gerrard
    CM: Lucas
    LM: Mata
    ST: Carroll
    ST: Suarez

    Bench:
GK: NEW signing (Whoever we sign as back-up GK)
    RB: Johnson
CB: Skrtel NEW signing (Dann etc.)
    CM: NEW signing (Adam/Sissokho)
    CM: Miereles
RM: Rodriguez or NEW signing (N'Zogbia or Downing)
    ST: Kuyt

I would prefer Lucas in the starting line up as he can cover the defence whilst the likes of Kelly and the new left-back go forward to support the attack.

I'd take a 2-0 win as well. Hopefully we can get off to a solid start and not encounter any big problems. I expect it to be a difficult game though. Sunderland are a good side and can get some excellent results. My example being when they beat Chelsea 3-0. We cannot underestimate them.

Not being funny guys, but isn't a bit rash to guess at line-ups when we've little idea about ins and outs over the next few weeks?
Anyway we need to know whether the beach ball's fit.:)

Thats why I've put NEW signing next to the area which I think needs strengthening with a few suggestions next to it.

We've a good record against Sunderland at home,So I reckon we'll win comfortably.2-0 is my prediction.I reckon it will take a few weeks before we give someone a beating.I hope its against that lot at Anfield that we take apart.

We managed 3-0 at the Stadium of Light. Although it wouldn't really be a step back if we don't better that, I'd be delighted if we did.

Thumping a team managed by Fathead is always nice. The 7-0 vs Birmingham in the Cup in 2006 still brings a smile to my face.
