its all over the internet and sky sports that he is going to leave after falling out with the chairman and bookies arent taking bets on it anymore. If its true then bye bye Crystal Palace, but we all know that Pulis has a bad attitude and if he doesnt get his own way he throws his toys out of the pram
Stupid decision on Palace's behalf. Saved them from relegation but not sure that he was sacked and that he left by mutual concent (much like he left Stoke) Shame because I am 50% Palace in my family (the other half being Stoke) Whilst typing this someone messaged me saying that it was a disagreement over the transfer policy. Perhaps the backroom staff forced him to sign Kelly from liverpool or they didn't like him signing him? I am not sure but we will let it come out during the coming hours and days
A real shame for CP regardless of what has happened behind the scenes. As always we will never know the ins and outs, but we all know the power struggle that happens between manager and Chairperson - unfortunatley for TP he doesnt have the stature to weather it.
I have to agree with Ric guys Pulis always came across as ... If I don't get MY OWN way watch out. I heard this from one ex Stoke player and even Steven N'Zonzi said in not so many words the same thing. Can't say I'm sorry for T.P. because ON Chairman was ever going to give him the funds provided by the one and only Peter Coates. BIG mistake IMO by Palace IF he's been pushed/forced out as I think he would have probably kept them up. Now? who knows but in honesty I only care about SCFC and what happens here. One other note.. I went to last season's AGM and we LOST 30 million quid and alomost 35 million the season before that. Since Sparky has come in. That debt now stands at just over 3 Million. That in a nutshell say's it all. I doubt Steve Parish was willing to give Pulis that much money and HOW much did T.P. WASTE on player's before he left us.
Not being a cynical man but I think that he knew that it was going to be seriously difficult to replicate last seasons exploits - without spending a lot if money. His reputation remains intact - never been relegated. That Steve Parish seems a bit of a 'geezer' just like the previous owner - Jordan ?? Pulis will be back in the PL by Christmas...at a struggling club. Watch your back Mr Hughes !!
Interesting last paragraph Potts, I was aware we lost @£30m before last season but not the season before as well, and therefore for the debt to be down to a mere £3m now is remarkable, and we had our best PL finish last season as well.
the problem is Pulis wont get a chairman like Coates again, the amount of times he dug deep to get the players Pulis wanted was unreal, ive just read the financial report for Stoke City: last season we lost 5 million (Hughes) the season before it was 30 million (Pulis) the season before that another 30 million (Pulis) I can understand why the Crystal Palace chairman doesnt want to keep throwing the money at the club, and as soon as things dont go Pulis way he will drop you in the **** at the drop of a hat. IMO I think its disgraceful to decide to leave a club 48 hours before the start of the season especially with no replacement in place. Surely the chairman has expressed his views on how much would be spent on transfers etc so I can only think that Pulis was leaving it so late as to say to the Chairman "give me what I want or ill leave and drop you in the doodoo"
Not our Tone The only thing we know for sure is that we will never know the whole truth. It's great to speculate though
Again Ric is surely correct. Although their Chairman seems a bit of a Pratt, he was a fan before becoming Chairman. Pulis must have known money would be tight? No one is that stupid, or are they? He's fallen out with all his past Chairman... Gillingham for starters.
Never been relegated though. Loathe him or loathe him, he has this track record. How much is that worth...£100 million per year? You don't have to like the guy but there are a lot of pragmatic chairman around.
Why not PP...as you know I am not his biggest fan. BUT I cannot think of any other manager that would: 1. Have taken the Palace job 2. Succeeded in keeping them up and finishing as high as they did. He is still a grade A pillock though
I heard today that in addition to the transfer funds and control etc. he was trying to renegotiate his terms.
Which is probably why he was told to swivel on it Smithers? Should have sorted that weeks back, not 2 day's before the start of the season.
According to the chairman, there was no falling out, no friction between the two of them, but Pulis didn't want to continue. Who's telling the truth? We may never know but if it is Parish then it doesn't say much for TPs attitude IMO. Perhaps he thinks he deserves better! He may struggle to get another PL managers job.
