Looking at the A5 mate, the 2.5TDI S-line most likely at the minute, there seems little advantage to the 3.0 other than higher running costs and lower resale demand! Great looking car, it's just the whole fact that it isn't a BM, but seriously mate I drove to Glasgow Tuesday and I couldn't stand up straight for an hour when I got out, the Audi is a fair bit higher off the ground. I'm deciding over the weekend as I've a few days off next week. Disco's are great motors like, not summat I've ever fancied but good all round, I'd probs prefer an MLK or GLK.
I don't think I've not seen a modern 4x4 in probably 3 years that isn't fitted as standard with bluetooth connectivity... the much more common orange-faced, slutbucket Mini driver on the other hand, well they all have them! You'll not be a fan of the G63 AMG then? I thought even hippies liked them!
I actually don't get RAW's point of view here, we were on about classic cars, cars that were built, when even he was a young'un...Maybe he should also be blaming his fathers generation and his own, for building such fuel guzzling monsters, not just the modern 4 by 4.
Don't really trust the Jormans to make me a 4x4 mate, apart from the G Wagon, I'd love one of them. They don't stack up to the elite Landrover models off road, and I'd definitely take mine off road. The disco is a beast off road as well, I've had one all over Mungrisdale in the Lake District, got stuck loads but it eventually pulled out on it's own. Don't tell RAW I did that though! It's not perfect, that's why I love it so much. If it were perfect it would be an Aston Martin DB5 but they're all covered in cum stains nowadays due to how many sad bastards stand ****ing over them. Don't know why mate but I'm just fixated on a Landrover, I don't really care about what else is out there. I'd never have one of them Vogue Rangerovers though, they're hideous.
Thing is the fuel economy on a modern day Audi/BMW diesel is excellent anyway. Yeah, you get more in a Peugeot or some ****, but then you are harder on the pedals and it's counter productive anyway.
I hired an i30, I think it was may have been a 20 or 40, one of the 3, and drove back from Gatwick. Have to say I was pretty impressed, expected it to be really bad, and it wasn't, at all. Decemt motor.
I was just teasing marra, and playing devils advocate to a certain extent. Although the point I make regarding me not having the slightest interest in fuel guzzling cars does stand..
My boss has a 4.0d BMW as one of his many motors and it out performs his mate's hybrid Lexus (also a 4.0d if I'm not mistaken) on mpg! Oh well to each their own mate, I like the i ranges by Hyundai, really good cars, especially the i20 WRC, that's a beast 300hp, can't go wrong!
I get 38mpg easily out of mine, and i've had clear of 50 on a run. Frankly mate, bar tiny little pisspot engines, that compares with things like the Focus, Mondeo, Astra & Insignia, that nobody blinks an eye at. They don't have a badge on though

Why have a car with a massive engine when you can only drive at 70 mph anyway in this country? I sometimes get the feeling that some blokes are trying to compensate for other inadequacies in their lives!
That's always the line though RAW, it does make me laugh. A line made by people who can't have but want so come up with summat derogatory as a compensation. (not accusing you of this, was clearly tongue in cheek ) It's not about the top speed, it's about the smoothlessness and effortlessness of moving, overtaking etc, you can get faster cars for less money than German.
Wow. If Euro's come up tonight, I'll buy that and I'll take you to a circuit for a mince about in it!
