there wont be another supermarket wiz as the sainsburys just down the road 5 minute walk from the mem will close, so the new 1 will replace the old 1 but just move on the mem. plus, added benefits will be other stuff going on at the mem along with sainsburys. locals will be happy
All major retailers carry out feasibility studies before considering land purchases and will also have models to satisfy planning conditions. If retail outlets in the local area had reached saturation point then Sainsburys would have been aware long before the current proposals were made public
'WE'LL LISTEN TO RESIDENTS' Friday, June 10, 2011 Profile image for Bristol Evening Post Bristol Evening Post Follow BRISTOL Rovers' chairman Nick Higgs has promised to listen to residents over plans to build a new £40-million stadium and sell the current ground to Sainsbury's. He said the club and the supermarket chain would be starting a joint consultation exercise to gather people's views about the plans. We will carry out joint consultations dated 10/06/11.... Sshhhh they ain't got the fact's from the people yet....
You have got absolutely no chance of building a Supermarket on the memorial Stadium. It aint gonna happen. Feasibility studies are fine but cannot take in to account public opinion. public consultation will be part of the planning process whether you like it or not. (oh, for the pedantic amongst you, There will be a pedestrian access to our stadium from the silbury rd end.) so we're in Bristol, and so will you be for at least the next 20 years! We haven't even started any protest groups up yet, so much to do but so much time as well!
Thats fine! I better bring back to your attention about David James signing for villa then? <biggrin>
james MAY end up at villa...... is not is signing for villa. it was a wooden spoon comment stirring it
