Maybe your right, it would make sense. A quick search did tell me he signed a new deal on the 27th of July but that was off wiki so who knows.
Doc just a point you raised that we had bought nothing of note .I totally disagree with you on this I think that the goalkeeper will be a great asset once we sort out his distribution that's up to the goalkeeper coach I like the look of Beradi and Bianchi the Duke once he his taught how to jump for a ball and head a ball will be an handful. Cooper must have tremendous potential and Belluscli must be some centre back Agard will be some player too so I will stick to nobodies they are young and hungry and just what I have been asking for for such a long time si if it doesn't work blame me Smith was a nobody but I prefer him to Caroll for a start he keeps himself free of injury looking after himself not abusing his body a true pro Incidentally I would love to know how much the average age of the side is now compared with the useless lot we had before mike
All signings are a gamble, some more than others. We know so little about a lot of the guys we've signed that only time will tell whether we've bought well or not. What I will say is that at least they are young, many are loan to buys, so from a business perspective we've offset a lot of the risk. What do people think about the last week? Part of me thinks, good on cellino he's realised he needs to get his wallet out and solve an obvious problem. Part of me thinks if he hadn't been so keen to get cheap deals, we may have got more of our preferred targets over the line earlier. Interesting that there's been an influx of uk based players. Originally he said he wanted Brit players, then he said he wanted Italian league players because he knew the league. Changes his mind like my missus, but positive that he's reacted so quickly and positively to what he witnessed last week.
If Agard signs I will literally lay an egg. Where signing young players that I rate. I'm scared what's going on.
Egg it is then rev, I'll have mine sunny side up ... Mike, great point you make about Carroll, how the fcuk did Liverpool think this waster was worth £36m? And then you have to question West Ham for paying £16m for him and taking on his ridiculous wages ... this fcuk is up there with Kenny right now in the "get paid for fcuk all" stakes, and I can't see him ever being good enough to score 20 goals in the Prem ... back to us, Agard will be just fantastic in terms of our intention to build a team, and I can't begin to express my relief that we haven't signed any 30-something "good lads" who are "experienced" and can "do a job" for us on stupid wages and three year contracts ... that said, I expect a player like Tonge to play his heart out this season every time he gets a chance as he will be out on a free at the end of the season if not January
Have to agree with you Doc - As a Leeds fan I believe we are building a great looking squad, if I were a supporter of any other Championship team I would be writing our chances off. On paper we are looking decent, but we did have to Wiki nearly every one of our signings, now is the time for them to gradually start showing us what they can do. In hindsight you would have to say he should have splashed the cash earlier but then waiting his time previously did enable him to fetch a premium price for Ross, I guess it is just like a game of poker, some you win other times you have to admit defeat. Twice Cellino has thrown his toys out the pram and pulled out of deals to then go back in for the player and pay the asking price. I said in another thread Cellino does a lot of right but he isn't perfect and it seemed to upset Chippy/Glory a little
More from twatter..... Phil Hay‏@PhilHayYEP·55m The target to look out for now is Adryan of Cagliari. Leeds are very, very keen on him but think it'll be a difficult deal to pull off #lufc Emanuele Giulianelli‏@EmaGiulianelli·13 mins +++ Patrick Bamford from Chelsea new Leeds target #lufc http://wp.me/p2WJnD-qV If that last one comes off I will literally wet my pants, this kid is awesome.
If we signed Bamford and Adryan, are we going with that lesser used formation of 2-8? Seriously, how many forwards does one squad need?!
Here we go again..... Phil Hay‏@PhilHayYEP·22 secs Message from Cellino indicating that Agard deal is off. That was very short-lived. #lufc
