Not spending ridiculous amounts of money on average players, getting rid of lots of crap off the books and not being held to ransom by players and agents and telling them where to go if they want too much money. Let's face it were never going to win the league so we don't need to spend £20 million on one player like liverpool all we need to do is sell our average players for big money like southampton have and recruit new average players for free or cheap and bring up lads from the academy and as long as we stay in the league which is our goal for every season it's a success.

Why do you disagree is it because you want us to win the league and have unrealistic expectations

We're not going backwards going backwards is the championship staying in the league is all we can do and short is a business man so he won't go back to the days of big spending i can guarantee we won't see the Bruce or di canio days again. It's not borini who doesn't want to come its us who won't give the wages he wants out of principle

I want us to gradually build into force on the pitch, I want us to win trophies and hopefully one day break the top 6. We may not win the league. But it's been proven by multiple teams you can gradually build to compete at that end of the table.

Transfer window wise it's been ok, but I won't call it a success until we have a full squad to work with. Still a lot of work to do. We need a CB, LB, CM and winger who can play upfront. get them in with some real quality in there and I'll be very happy.

The only signing I would class as good is Rodwell. The rest should be squad players at best.

If this is a legitimate profile of a Sunderland supporter, then I am the king of the world.

****ing bellend, staying in the league is not a target every season, growing and reachin top 10 has always been mentioned.

We've fallen short year on year, more due to poor judgement in the market than lack of ambition.

I don't, and would never be happy for us to be growing and selling like Saints, if we got together a team like that I'd expect us to fight tooth and nail, as the 7th best supported club in the land, to keep them.

Well I'm afraid your going to be disappointed because were never going to be a force or win any trophies and I think the sooner people realise that and the owner realises that which it looks like he has then the better. Short is a business man who cares about his investment and the return on it. If he can survive in the premier league and spend the least amount of money whilst utilising what's available to him then he can make a profit and start making money.

Would you really say southampton had a good team because when I watch them play I thought they were average at best and these guys were meant to be the future and they didn't do anything in the World Cup. I watched them at the stadium of light and they were there for the taking and poor defensively we were just worse than they were in the first half. Put it this way Man U had a poor season and finished 7th southampton had a good season and finished 8th so what does that tell you about their players.

Short is a semi-retired man nowadays with billions in the bank, I think if his bottom line was making a few quid from the club he'd have long since sold up.

By everything you have said, the club would never make profit that way due to lack of revenue bar player sales, and as such, your posts about him making money and not progressing are in direct contradiction.
