Are you Sure? It is Eastleigh side of the M27 Like the Airport is which as we know is in Eastleigh. The old Transit factory was where it became Southampton beyond the Airport.

My mistake, you are quite correct. The Silverlake Stadium is situated about 400 yards inside the Eastleigh borough border. Because the entrance is in Stoneham Lane, I have always considered it to be part of Southampton, from way back when I used to go coarse fishing up at Stoneham Lakes, as a teenager.

To put this into some sort of perspective, the Southampton Trojans Rugby club is also just within Eastleigh, as are the Southampton Mustangs Baseball Club. I always considered the Concorde Club to be in Southampton, but it's also just in Eastleigh. Even the airport is called Southampton International Airport [Eastleigh], and outside it the train station is Southampton Airport Parkway, also in Eastleigh. The lines get very blurred.

What is new and interesting is that Eastleigh FC have finally got into the Football Ground Guide: http://www.footballgroundguide.com/eastleigh/index.html

Thanks TSS found that quite interesting. A bit off topic but did you know if you count the Borough Eastleigh has 8 train stations which are Eastleigh , So'ton Airport Parkway ,Chandlers Ford ,Hedge End , Botley ,Netley ,Hamble ,Bursledon and also a beach at Netley?

Scored 7 goals from RB and captain on several occasions last season for their youth team.

Eastleigh won 1 0 in the 94th minute, that's the way to do it.

Did anyone else watch it? The crossing at conference level is so funny.

Fair play to Eastleigh for grinding it out - there were basically no chances until the worst marking at a corner you'll ever see

It's going to be tough at the top in the Conference, top 6 all on 6 points. Eastleigh 3rd on GD.

Was a bit bizarre seeing a local ground I've actually played competitive football on (dim & distant past) on the Telly.

Not sure the ground improvements have improved the ground. New stands are a bit tin hut & ramshackle, although I suppose they had to get something in quick.

Aldershot fans were doing a fine impression of Crystal Palace fans. Ok, you share the same kit colours, don't mean you have to copy all their songs as well.

Eastleigh didn't look great but they hung in there and really put on the pressure in the last 5 minutes. Great time to score the only goal of the match. How about the same from us on Sunday!?

Saints U21's we're playing at The Silverlake recently, so more connections there.

Just love it if they got to or even surpassed the level where the Skates 'play' their fishy football....

Are eastleigh automatically in the FA cup 1st round this year or do they still have to qualify?

It's the 4th (last) qualifying round for Conference Prem teams. Hopefully against a lower league team who has got through.

That game got cancelled, because Saints couldn't field enough players. (don't let the Daily Mail know)

I always feel sorry for those people living on the outskirts of Southampton who can't technically say they are from Southampton. I have a friend (no, really) in Netley. Whenever I see him, I can sense the empty part of his soul that yearns to be filled with a Southampton City Council voting right. It gnaws away at him, I fear for his sanity at times.

He could well move about half a mile into Weston, but that probably would push him over the edge.

Is the boundary as simplistic as the M27?
